Blue Metallic 1973 Datsun 240Z, April 14, 1973. Seiran Blue 2023 Z, April 14th, 2023.

The new blue Z is a Performance, Graphite interior, and a "Paddle Shift Transmission" ;) (per another dealers advertisement).

Bought in Chicago, picked up on Monday morning (snowing earlier!) and drove same day to son's home in Kansas City. Will drive it to our home in N. California mid June via non-interstate highways. Mostly US Highway 50, rural Kansas, Colorado (Pikes Peak, Monarch Pass, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, etc), Utah and Nevada (the Loneliest Road in America, Lake Tahoe), then home to N. California. Road Trip!

Will take both Zs to ZCON in Ontario, CA this summer.

congrats! I love to see these type of posts as one of my fav parts of a Z is its not just a car. those 2 Z's exactly 50 years apart represent a persons life story encompassed in those 2 pics.

to think you were doing the exact same thing 50 years apart is like some type of synergy with the universe. thats how I felt with that pic of me sitting on my moms 280 then 40 years later with my mom taking the same pic of me with my Z in the same exact spot

Sorry Siggy, I'm a 3rd generation Jayhawk... But I was born in Missouri, so I do enjoy the ability to say "Show Me" whenever I want!

Are you in the KC Z Club or the Heart of America Z Car Club? I thought I might try to get to an event when I'm back in KC in June.

Awesome, Congrats, great story and heritage kept! 👍 Always love these road trips! Keep us posted, and will see you at ZCON. I can relate to that 50th birthday, my '73 too, but not stock anymore, certainly worth less than your beauty. I won't have a 2023 by then though. Let's meet and chat.

I really wanted the Serian blue, but got the silver metallic as it was the only one at the dealership. It’s growing on me lol. Congratulations on your beautiful new Z! 😁

Are you entering your RB26 Z in any of the judging categories at ZCON? Color me very jealous of your engine!

Nah, not entering any of the judging cats, too much preps LOL. I'll just show up and enjoy the show, will look out for that blue '73! Not even sure if I'll do Willow Springs. Also not sure if I should leave the track setup or switch wheels to the street Watanabes. I really just want to chill that week:) 👍

I think that this ZCON will be the last judged show I will take my 240Z to. "Too much preps" is so true! See you there.
