🙌 Delivery!! I’m picking up a Z Proto 6spd

More than reasonable for a limited production run Z. Hell I would buy one if I could find a proto with only an $8500 mark up too. Nearest dealer in my area wants $75k on top of the Proto MSRP.

75k Extra is significant and seems incredibly high for this car…but free markets decide.

Thank You Very Much! From the day I first set eyes on a 1990 300zx I have always found the Z design to be just Clean, Classic Beauty. It took me many years of work to
Build up a business and have the financial resources to responsibly restore and own these cars. After a year pause I intend on build/restore my second 240z.

Easily the best Part is the exterior design of the Z. It is truly pleasing to the eye from every angle you look at it from. The body and interior fit and finish are Fantastic in my opinion. The ergonomics of the interior are pleasing as well. Very comfortable to drive for me. As a sports car it is GT like for sure. The power and acceleration is indeed linear. My 2 Negatives. 1) The exhaust is to quiet as I prefer more feedback from exhaust noise when up/down shifting and accelerating. 2) There is a slight disconnected/floating feel at initial steering input. This is really hard to explain without being at the wheel. It will interesting to see what other owners think.

First, I forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS yesterday. Great addition to your stable and thanks for sharing your initial thoughts with us.

Second, it was a little strange that during the initial (manufacturer) controlled testing video's of the car, they used a reviewer to demonstrate their Nismo exhaust. I don't ever remember that happening with the release of a new sports/GT car, which tells you a lot about the standard exhaust sound.

I recall that as well now that you mention it. Certainly needs a different exhaust. Not to much louder as this Z is Beautifully Buttery Smooth To drive. OMG I love it!!

I just finished a 120 mile run with the Z and OMG!! It is Buttery Smooth to drive, an absolute joy and once you get used to the initial very slight float feel the car hangs on in corners like you would expect! This Z has an incredibly smooth linear acceleration feel as you move through the gears. This is the best part of this car. Like no other vehicle I have ever experienced. OMG..this linear smooth acceleration is incredible. As I drive it more it just gets better. Initial Shifting tightness is disappearing too! No way anyone should be disappointed in this Z!!!

Just a few thoughts on initial break in. The owners manual says 1200 miles below 4K rpm’s. Dang I’ve already busted that recommendation severals times? I understand how important break in can be but 1200 is a lot IMHO. My C8 was programmed below 4500rpm for the first 500 miles. Thoughts on this break in period??

Definitely alter speeds but with gentle acceleration, particularly from starts.

Are you changing out the tires?

Change the oil after 100 miles if you can, the reason while people break in engines is to remove the tolerances in the block. That means there will be small pieces of metal going around in your car’s engine and you should get them out.

One of the aims of breaking in an engine is making sure the piston rings seal against the cylinder bores. That is done using gases emitted during running that force the rings outwards. That’s why it is good to provide high pressure initially

I am waiting for the Black optional Nismo wheels that I negotiated with the purchase. I will run the Continental DWS06 tires on those wheels and report the results on here. So yes hopefully soon. Also I negotiated an promotional lithium lightweight battery upgrade and will be changing that soon. I will show that as well.

It is perfect for almost all owners. If you want track modify it. But to all the negative reviews on the track and 0-60 runs…who cares this car is So smooth and DAMN Gorgeous looking. Like a Beautiful Lady? No other car out there has this design!!

Our Supras have the same break-in period. Try not bounce off the rev limiter during this time. I would vary the speed and work your way up on aggressive driving as you put miles on it.

Once you hit 1200 miles send it like it was stolen. After that change the oil and you’re good.
