@Ballast Scorcher no reply unsurprisingly, I’m not holding my breath that’s for sure. I did order some new plates though, surprised they weren’t taken already:
Fair call mate - and good plates. If shit goes wrong, I'm sure you could sell them - that was my own thinking anyhow!

When did you place your coin down mate ?

Yeah that was my thought to.

I put mine down at the start of October. I would’ve been even earlier in September as soon as the Z launch was released online but the first dealer I called had no idea and couldn’t put me on any list. I just assumed nothing could be done, but called another dealer in October and they were taking names. A little bummed out, this was my first time ordering a new car and it would’ve been nice to know the right dealers to go to from the start to secure what I wanted. Oh well lesson learnt for the Nismo, I know who to go to now.

Yeah mate, we were within a handful of days of each other.

I'm hearing ya regarding the dealer used mate. I'd only been in WA 2 years at the time of order and having to go through a Perth based dealer as the Nissan Goldfields in Kalgoorlie had shut shop and I'd only been to Perth a small handful of times was pretty full-on.

No shit, I googled the biggest nissan dealerships in perth and selected the result closest to the highway heading East out of Perth. How's that for a full rookie move? ?

Hey, @Fontana, how'd ya email go mate? Get anything back regarding the 6spd ?

Also, @West Aussie, any idea what ships are due into Freo in the next three - four weeks? I'm unfamiliar with the means you guys use to pinpoint ships, or indeed how early you can gain access to its timetable or what have you.

With hearing about the Amethyst Ace floating around, I wonder how that ships timeframe works with a possible sister ship heading this way.
I just go to
https://www3.fremantleports.com.au/VTMIS/dashb.ashx?db=fmp.public&btn=ExpectedMovements

It lists all ships but only till the end of the month…only “Ace” looking to port is the “liberty Ace “

You can then click on the ship for more info…or google the ships movements

No real news, but I just received an email directly from Nissan and copied into my dealer confirming my proto allocation. For those that have not seen the letter I have attached it below.

I was told by my dealer that the car I ordered was in the country and it is likely only a few weeks away.

Nice to have something official from Nissan as I have only had dealer confirmation till this date.

Has everyone else received an email such as this for those that have confirmed proto allocations?
Yes, I received the email today confirming the allocation of a manual PROTO.
No delivery date, just an order number.

So what’s that…5 in here alone that have Protos allocated.
It for sure sounds like they have now been finalised and everyone has been contacted who procured one
I really am hoping that means from tomorrow they start work on the coupes and I’ll be getting a call soon

I can confirm that there are Proto's being built in December with February 2023 delivery dates. Maybe Nissan has decided to release 240 to every market, or perhaps only half of the allocation coming in August. Very strange development indeed, and sure to annoy those who wanted stick shift and didn't get it...

So it's safe to assume that we're looking at Coupe deliveries well before all Protos have arrived?

Yes, there will be coupe's in the first shipment. It was never going to be all Proto's delivered first.

The Proto's just had to be handled differently due to the very limited numbers. Deals fall through a bit, e.g. finance, so there is always going to be some shuffling.

Coupes will follow a more traditional supply arrangement, well normal for the current times. :)

They are already taken in QLD ?

Sorry guys I don't say much on here but wanting to give what info I have.
So I like others have received confirmation on my Proto in manual. My dealer called me 5 minutes after the email came from Nissan Australia. He mentioned that the original number Australia was to receive was 120 but Nissan Australia managed to secure an extra 50 units making Australian Proto numbers total 170. He also confirmed that my order number was allocated for production in January 23 with deliver in the following month as others have also been told.
My thoughts are the original 120 units may be produced already. He also mentioned the other 2 successful proto orders at his dealership, which were placed 3 months before me, had already had the cars build dates of June 22. Eta for those lucky customers being hopefully in the next 6 weeks. Again makes me think the initial 120 unites are built and will be delivered but maybe the extra 50 will be that December January build run.
Thoughts all?
Hope everyone is well ?

If what you have been told is true then that would have really pissed my off if I still had my Proto on order.

The whole point of being limited edition is just that is is meant to be limited, but the fact that they are potentially adding an additional 50 units just for sales diminishes that fact.

The US are only getting 240 of them and they are over 10 times the size of our market thus it will be a very special car there, not so much here in my opinion if we get 170.
