I was also tempted to bid on that black NSX, but I really have my heart set on red. Anyways, the buy it now price was $54k (not worth it imo) with the sale needing to meet final approval from the seller. I wouldn't be surprised if they met somewhere in the middle. If not, it will probably just get relisted again
does "meet final approval from the seller" mean they can back out of the deal if it didn't sell for what they wanted? i mean obviously they wouldn't say that, but could make another excuse.

Correct, because it didn't met the seller reserve price. Like with eBay, it's up the seller if they want to accept the highest bid, negotiate for a higher price, or just relist it altogether.

wondering the reason why?

I love the NSX.

Had a chance to buy a used one in 1996 for $30k, almost did it.

But, I would think buying one nowadays would be a letdown.

Too precious for traffic. And you might be disappointed in the power, we've been spoiled for a while now with pretty quick cars available to the masses. It'd be difficult to enjoy the NSX. All of the drivers on the road under the influence, distracted, no insurance, no consequences, wouldn't want to risk it.

Agree, I think $25k was a fair price. We have to remember that there are Copart ($3,000) and broker fees ($300-$500) as well. And by the time you calculate the cost of shipping it will probably be close to $30k.

If the buy it now price was $54k I don't think the seller will accept anything less than $50k, maybe high 40s?

Over the week my friend put his NSX project car for sale. I was tempted after seeing the price of only $18k. However, I ended up passing on it because it was black (I really want a red one) and that fact that it needed a lot of work. It was hit in the front and he was able to find a bare front clip. You would still need to source the hood, bumper, fenders, headlights, and all the little tidbits tho. He found quotes from different body shops ranging from $4k-$7k for labor. He's not interested in shipping, so if anyone in or around the Houston area is interested in an NSX project car hit me up and I will forward you his info.

I'm sure I'm missing parts here and there but a quick summary.

Car: $18,000
Hood: $1,500
Bumper: $1,200
L&R bumper guard: $300
Absorber: $50
Bumper beam: $930
R headlight: $680
L headlight: $680
Fender liner: $380
Aftermarket fenders: $1000
Labor: $5,500 (taking the middle)

About $30k in total. This could be a good deal especially if the buyer owns their own shop or knows how to do the work themselves.
