I really hope it's not because this forum, myself included, would lose their minds if that happens.
Yeah. My definition of crazy markup and their definition of crazy markup may not jibe...Don't know how official this is, but found this as I was looking for Nissan dealers in Cali...

Don’t think the advert is from the same dealer offering a “reasonable” 5klol suddenlyguy tells u 5 k is not a crazy markup
LOL at their "no crazy dealer markup" only to go to the store and see $9,999 market adjustment.Yeah. My definition of crazy markup and their definition of crazy markup may not jibe...
But maybe I'm the crazy one here.
Yeah I picked a hell of a time to buy a new car lol. At this point if I can't get the Z during summer time...I'm just going to go elsewhere. For me a thing is, how long the COVID hangover is dragging out. In terms of vehicles, I'm reading estimates of years for vehicle chip production and other stuff. People on multi year waiting lists for some vehicles. I feel sometimes, there is a "new norm", where it's more ok to simply not have things work so well.
I'm getting kind of resigned to the reality of having fun with my current vehicles, and checking back in a few years, to see if vehicle availability finally recovers. Taking solace in the fact I happened to buy 3 vehicles just prior to the full blown COVID era, so I'm not in the unfortunate position as some folks who desperately need a vehicle.
I'm just not getting a good overall vibe of things working well again for a while.
In the middle of last year, I got 0.9% 60 mo. from Nissan on a 2022 Pathfinder MSRP +$500 cashback. I think I got a little bit lucky considering the supply chain issues. Regardless, I won't pay a markup on any new vehicle. I'm not that desperate. Having to pay MSRP is painful enough.Right Dotson. I'm betting they won't have 0% financing for 72 months like I have now either.
Agreed! That's why I stick to major news networks for the REAL facts! This would not surprise me at all. So much misinformation on the web.
I chuckled at you complaining about 4 dollars a gallon and fortune to drive ?. 4 dollars usd a gallon would b 127 a litre in canada. Guess what were at 2 dollars a litre! 127 is a god damn steal. In the middle of last year, I got 0.9% 60 mo. from Nissan on a 2022 Pathfinder MSRP +$500 cashback. Another thing that concerns me is the climbing gas prices. Premium fuel is pushing near $4 a gal around me. I wouldn't want a brand new sports car that costs a fortune to drive.
It will be interesting to see how this Ukraine/Russia conflict pans out. I read a news article that said that even if the US started ramping up oil production, it would take 18 mo. - 24 mo. before it has an effect on prices at the pump. And what if the current administration isn't in a big hurry to increase oil production because they see it as an opportunity to prevent sales of more ICE vehicles. There is some significant uncertainty in the world right now that makes me a bit cautious.
Dang! and ironically Canada supplies the US with 50% of the fuel we consume. You guys need to have a serious talk with your prime minister.. lolI chuckled at you complaining about 4 dollars a gallon and fortune to drive ?. 4 dollars usd a gallon would b 127 a litre in canada.
