If you haven't heard from your dealer, call them!
I called mine, they got my order, and I'm actually the first one to order with them :p

I just sent an email to the Nissan reservations desk asking them to confirm that the dealer confusion at my selected dealer (see OP) has been resolved.

Interesting. Very few have posted an order here, so either they had a very small allocation, or only a small minority of buyers are on this forum.

It does make sense that the Performance MT is the most popular trim though.
Even tho the reserve is only partially 'in' in terms of buying the car, I need to wait for some reviews on how it drives tbh before I'm ready to even partially commit. There were a couple of things that I saw in the video & photos from the dealer (I think) in Ontario that me go 'hmmm' too.... Didn't realize that the trunk was so small (and I own a Supra...), infotainment seemed kinda laggy\slow, etc. - I know this car is pre-prod tho and software updates etc happen.

Just gotta wait for some reviews now ;)

Yes I would not have reserved if I hadn't seen the refund form with my own eyes - if reviews are a washout I'll be making use of it.

in all honesty, I think what Aus and Canada are doing makes sense.
They are asking for a decent deposit, so no one is just going to reserve one unless they are super serious, and it also stops people putting their name down in multiple locations.
BUT, if when the price is revealed or the specs are not what’s expected there is a way out.
At the same time they can see what their buyers want, and where they want them…and so where possible the right configuration of car will be sent to the matching dealer with the buyer. This way buyers are not left with a car they don’t want, the dealer doesn’t have a hard sell, the company sells what is ordered only instead of producing cars people don’t want (think about it…order now delivery September would mean they are making what has been requested)….everyone’s happy
Think Nisssan USA really need to lobby their government to get rid of some if the ridiculous laws you have around sales and jump onboard ….OR figure out a way to punish their dealers who are price gougin. Maybe it’s law that they can’t stop them selling above retail, but maybe it’s not a law that would stop them sending high stock levels to dealers who are renowned for doing so. They need to think outside the box and protect their products name

Lol sold out in 2 days.. Low allocation #s for initial run, probably allocating more for US buyers.

I just reserved a Z on Nissan.ca and thought it would be worthwhile starting a thread for those of us who have done so. Let us know what you have reserved!

In my case I have booked a Performance MT in Gun Metallic. Expected delivery in the summer. Guess I need to change my avatar.....

Ten minutes after completing the reservation I got a phone call from the dealer I specified, asking me if I was making inquiries about the "400Z" or a Versa!:rolleyes:? I explained that I had a confirmed Z reservation with a receipt for my deposit. He said he'd have to check with Nissan to see what was going on. Nice guy though. Nissan Canada clearly has some bugs to work out.....
I noticed this too. The salesman in most dealers I spoke to are calling it the 400z and I CRINGE everytime

I preordered mine last week from local dealer, when they had the limited pre-order event. Earlier this week I received the following confirmation from Nissan. There was a Nissan Dealer call with the announcement Jan 25th where they were provided details. If your dealer missed the call they'll be clueless.

Really? I did the same on Jan 28 and I didn't get an email. Now I am worried lol

Although I was initially a bit disappointed that my car won't be available until the summer, I can see a few advantages to not getting the first production output:
  • any initial bugs or problems on the production line can be caught and corrected before my car is built
  • more time = better chance of getting any of those factory installed accessories
  • a longer time window in which to cancel, if for example the reviews we expect to see in the spring are negative (which seems unlikely)
Warranty :)
