Has anyone replaced the seats?

They’re actually standard aftermarket Recaro Sportster CS seats but upholstered like the ones you mentioned. No special fabrication was required for installation.

So, those are CS seats with Nismo coverings, not Juke Nismos? Plus they have heating feature, how was the connector adapted to the OEM harness? That's a great upgrade, airbag(?) and heating.

Correct. I had them built with Nissan connectors to make them plug and play. I retain airbag functionality.

When I put bucket seats into my 370Z Nismo she wouldn't let it go that she didn't have functioning airbags on the passenger side because I did not transfer over the weight sensor. That was a big reason I essentially bought the same seats twice only I spent double the cost on the second set so she would have the peace of mind of functioning airbags and the luxury of seat warmers. The things we do for love.

Perhaps it will be cheaper and effective to have them customize the cushion by replacing the internal material and reshaping the support areas to alleviate you back problem. They may be able to use the original seat-cover or apply/install a new one with a personalized design. Several years back, they did a great job with a custom-cushion seat for my aerobatic aircraft. Maximum endurance cruising flights were very comfortable (had to replace the seat when doing aerobatics…the parachute became the seat cushion… not recommended for endurance flights) At any rate….

I love the car, but not the seats. The plastic on the side of the base of the seat is very uncomfortable under the cushion. Can we remove the plastic? I would put in Recaros, but the dealer and other mechanics tell me there will be an airbag light and the car will fail inspection. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
