Well... I'm too dumb/impatient to use header wrap so my wife is going to redo it for me... This is one of those things I've never claimed to be good at. Never have been, never will be!

Im loving my Non catted Spools LDPs . But i'm gonna get the Catted AMS's FDPs now while I upgrade turbos.
are these spool’s non-resonated (race version) lowers? Did the support bracket fit?

LOL yup, I watched a bunch yesterday afternoon. It was the resonator size transitions giving me grief. When I've done single diameter pipes in the past the jobs turned out OK (I won't say good or great) and held up well.

Regardless, I've decided to remove the wrap and get them ceramic coated like I've done with every other header & downpipe in the past (including the Spools). I'll drop them off at Poly Dyn in Houston tomorrow and ask for a rush job so they're ready before my Friday install appointment.

Probably a selling point I didn't understand. I never thought I'd do more to the car than their Trucontrol. But I got Z1 drop in filters, Stillen cat back and awesome Chinese catless LDPs. I'm not sending them my unit for 3 HP on their end. Not worried about it. The car picked up power and I'll leave it be.
Interested in running something similar for me. Have awe catback on and want to go lower downpipes with jb4. Any issue running with your setup in terms of boost and overspooling?

@KrackaC8 how do the B6A's look in comparison to the Spools? I'm still trying to decide between the 3" resonated LDPs and their 4" full megaphone downpipes. My biggest concern with the full pipes would be needing a tune (which is why I threw a hissy fit a couple days ago that Stillen wouldn't be able to handle that with the TruControl) but B6A is saying that it may be ok since the O2 sensors in it are basically "fake catted" to make the sensors believe the cat is still there.

@Tranzor Z Did Stillen say anything else about the V2 TruControl that's coming? They lost bluetooth on that new model or with the existing one?

They looks fine, very similar in terms of appearance. One of my B6A pipes has a slight dent in it. The B6A resonators are larger but the Spools had better/thicker flanges. The included hardware pack w/gaskets is similar. Weld quality is similar on both with smooth pipe bends. O2 bungs cleanly welded on both. Bracketgate aside, the only reason I'm making the swap is due to B6A using larger resonators and my hopes of toning down the exhaust slightly.

“Toning down the exhaust slightly” = having a happy wife (and I say that knowing I’ll be in the EXACT same situation if I put in LDPs and it’s too loud). 😂

Highly suggest you DON'T do full downpipes nor the 4 inchers either then! Probably vibrate your brain into annoyance! LOL!

Haha, agreed! I know I like the idea of full pipes but I know that the LDPs is a better option, both for sound, not requiring a tune, and keeping the warranty intact

100% agreed on all counts (except I got ECUTek custom dyno tuned). Normally I'm not one to leave any exhaust component stock, especially factory cats.

I’ve got the B6A LDP’s coming in, should be here mid week, will try to get them installed soon.

Yes! Yes!
Awesome - thanks for the info. Mine are at jet hot and I’ve been concerned these were going to become a $500 attic museum item….

How they sound?
