Yep very true, many OEM car maker applications use Enkei wheels, some easily seen by the stampings on the wheels. Trusted wheel quality.

Then there are race series like GTA time attack and Formula Drift, plenty of Enkeis used, especially the RPF-1.

I have a heritage with the stock wheels on it now. I’ve read every page on this thread, so I have a good idea of what wheels I like, although my question is, should I go with silver, anthracite/gray, or black? I haven’t seen any heritages on this thread to see what they look like but I see most of the black wheels have a tendency ‘disappear’ so I can’t see the detail. (You can’t even tell what wheels are on mine in the picture.)
Does anyone have some pics of a heritage with different wheels? Thoughts on color?

Why not powdercoat yours to a color you want? It’s an option, your Heritage wheels are unique already, a nice Watanabe retro take.

But my biggest peeve is where the trend began: on buy here pay here 3rd owner Dodge Charger and Challenger, owners would PlastiDip their wheels black and be like "yo, it's murdered out!"

I have a Ford bronco that is sort of an ‘orangey’ red metallic (hot pepper red) and when I built it up, I put black rims and oversize tires. Regret it because you can’t see the nice wheels design - as you mentioned it just disappears.

This Z heritage with all its black trim really screams for a black wheel, especially since I’ve blacked out the katana, but I just can’t see putting black on there and not notice them after paying all the money to upgrade.

I’m not sure I’m sold on the bronze with the orange paint. I’m leaning towards the anthracite gray Nismo LMRS1.

Not sure if it’s true, but I’ve heard that powder coating can sometimes weaken the metals. I raced cars for a lot of years and once got rejected at tech for having chromed a set of wheels on my race car. (although, that was a vintage race car spoke Dayton wheels) I was told that the chrome process weakens them and they wouldn’t allow them on the track. I also had a friend who had a set AEV wheels on his rock crawler Jeep, and after powder coating two of them cracked on the trail. I had the same wheels on mine - not powder coated - and never had a problem.
I guess that could be an attributed to other things, but it still makes me nervous.
If I’m wrong, yours may be a good idea, to somehow get these to a more of an anthracite gray color. Appreciate the suggestion. I guess I’ll do more research to see if it’s viable and safe. I’m not gonna track this car, at least not in a serious racing event. Maybe a track day or two.

You can also have the wheels professionally repainted in a different color. On my Q60 I had a curbed wheel refinished, which included painting, and it came out perfectly. I had the car 3 years after that and couldn't even tell which wheel had been repaired. It was $200 at the time....

only swift springs, no other suspension mods




no rub at all but have about -2.1 camber in the rear. you will need adjustable arms to get less camber.

Might as well reply here since finally installed the Swift Spec-R springs and best camber settings w factory arms. Track wheels will come next, and SPL arms for more front neg camber.

That is the after alignment. The best that can be done with stock control arms, and the 1.2 inch lowered springs. Actually rear camber lessened a little bit to balance out the car.

Ride is firm but not harsh or bouncy, feels well-controlled! Firmer than stock for sure, and went thru RR crossings and some dips, no bottoming out, that progressive design helps ramp up the rate quite a bit, all very streetable still. Body roll is much flatter, I'm also on the stiffest Stillen setting on the front bar. The Z is way more direct and alive now on turns.

I went with alignment that is good for both street and track right now, and adjust later when needed. For serious tracking, tho, do need much more front neg camber, only aftermarket arms can do that, like SPL.

Nice. Thats good to hear, thanks. I’m installing the stillen sways as well this week and plan to get some springs with new wheels later this year. Street only, prob no (or very limited) track

Yea you on on track. First thing i did was swap oem tires for Michelin PS4, then swift lowering springs , then whiteline sways with end links (alignment). Then wider/bigger wheels .car feels like a Performance auto now.
