Finally got my NISMO intake on. Wasn't what I'd call fun. Never bled, but the back of my hands are pretty beat up.

Didn't have much trouble with the metal clips holding the MAF tubes to the boxes. For those who haven't tackled this, I used two long screwdrivers and jammed them into both sides of the clip to flare it out. The clips do NOT need to be removed, just flared out on each side to release the box.

My biggest problem was the hose clamp holding the flex tube onto the driver's side turbo. It was turned in a way that I couldn't get anything on the head. Tiny/pocket 1/4" socket wrench with a flexible head wouldn't do it, and that was after I machined a socket down so that it barely grabbed the head. Thinking mine was clocked a few degrees down more than normal. And it's right next to the metal inner fender (if that's what it's called) so there's not a lot of width to work with. I had to take the undertray off because one of the first things I did was drop a MAF sensor screw, so I went underneath. Zero access from underneath.

But it's done. Hopefully never to be undone...by me anyway. Left the covers off, and notice ZERO difference in sound. Maybe you have to be outside the car, or you get more between-shift sounds from the MT. Idk. Still happy with it.

👏 kudos for fighting the good fight! That install is no joke. I watched a guy install on youtube.

would be nice to have front and side cams
I'd like to get my hands on a GT/endurance racing rear camera radar system that highlights cars approaching and when they are alongside. I believe newer Porsche GT3's have this, or something similar.

I just ordered another universal joint and extension today in preparation for this job. I saw one fella on a YT who had luck using that setup to deal with the driver’s side hose clamp.

For me, u-joint adapter + socket (machined short) was still too wide to fit. I fiddled and got the socket on it (just the socket) to see how much height I had on top of the socket and it was a no-go. Also not enough room to hold the socket with vise-grips and turn from the side.

f I had a u-jount where the socket side had an 8mm (or 10mm?) in it rather than the 1/4-drive post it probably would have worked, but I assume that doesn't exist. I ended up modifying a piece of steel into an odd shape that I could use from the front like a slotted screwdriver. Had to smash the inlet pipe out of the way (toward the engine) to get enough room to turn a tiny bit at a time. Once I got it a tad loose I was able to turn the pipe and clamp a little and hit it from the top with a long screwdriver.

I have no plans to remove anything, but I made sure to clock every hose clamp to the best position in case I did, or ever do, have to take it apart.

Wow didn't know they went south o
They’ve bought land and built multiple Wawas in Tallahassee in the last couple of years. Always a bunch of cars, but I haven’t seen the inside of one yet.
Didn't know they expanded south of the Mason Dixon Line. Wawa is Philly area spot. Started in Chester County Pa.

Started seeing them in central FL 10? years ago below Orlando. I think some were converted 7-11s. In the last couple of years here we’ve seen a lot of brand new built, mostly Wawas and Sun Stops. Never had a 7-11 even close to Tallahassee.

They compete with Sheetz up here in Pa.
