That's great that you were able to do it yourself!
How much did they charge for the air bag module reset? How long until they return it?
It would be really cool if you did a tutorial on it! Maybe take step by step photos of you putting it back together? This way if someone has to do the same repair, they can take it apart by looking at your photos in reverse. I don't know how common it will be for people to have to do it on their own, but I'm one that likes to do as much as possible by myself.
I sent it to Myairbags.com. All total with shipping both ways was about $120. They claim 24 hour turnaround time, but with holiday it will be delayed. I will try to remember to take pictures.

Thanks! That's very reasonable considering that a new computer is about $1,000 if I remember correctly. I looked it up out of curiosity when there was a lot of talk about the poppers in the beginning.

Additionally, the 2026 Nissan Z features a reinforced body structure, which provides excellent crash protection in the event of an accident. The car’s front and side-impact airbags ensure that both the driver and passenger are protected during a collision,

UPS worldwide does not mess around. My eliminators shipped yesterday from Japan, at my doorstep this afternoon!

I plan to install by the weekend and will post pics of the install whether I remove or just unplug and bypass in place (most likely now that I've really thought about it.)

Not so fast for me ... idk wtf... and it won't let me pre-sign for the shipment on top of all the delays.

Uh, FedEx. Glad mine went UPS. Good luck I’m sure they will get it there eventually.

Got this done tonight, took 1 hour 20 mins start to finish, went ahead and took them out completely, it's not bad at all if you take the wipers off and cowl piece, they are very accessible with those off.

Making sure I understand ... you took out the entire assembly of the hood poppers in under 2 hrs?
Any issues that you ran into that you can share indepth? Any photos? Insights on how to?
I know, I am being a PITA ... but I would like to share what I do with the install to the community and provide pics.
I won't do video ... my ugly ass mug may break the camera lol
And ... what to do with now that they are out ... keep them or sell them?

Well, it looks like the pop-up eliminators are a false sense of security. Yes, the poppers won't deploy, but if the impact sensors are triggered you will still have a warning light. You will still have to replace them and have everything reset. I found out there are 3 pedestrian impact sensors on the bumper that are one time use and have to be replaced at about $550 up. I may have wasted my money on getting the air bag module reset with Myairbags. I am awaiting new sensors now. This has been a huge PITA. Somone needs to develop an eliminator kit for the impact sensors too, otherwise you will still be out a bunch of $$$$$ for nothing. Makes wish I had never bought the Z.

That stinks that the sensors in the bumper were also affected, sorry for your troubles :(
However, how did you waste money on getting the computer reset? It would have to get done either way. And if you took it to the dealer to get the car fixed, they would replace the poppers (eliminated the need for that with the pop up eliminators), they would replace the computer @ >$1,000 (eliminated that need with the reprogram. And they would replace the bumper impact sensors, which apparently also need replacing anyway.
I'm not seeing what the waste was.....unless, you put the computer in, and the bad impact sensors triggered the computer AGAIN? Did that happen? If so, that royally sucks because it would mean that you had to do all that work all over again, after the bumper sensors are replaced.
Please elaborate. Hopefully it can help other victims of this crazy "safety device".
What a bad design!!!

Yes, I had not replaced the impact sensors prior to have computer reset. I wrongly assumed that the air bag module reset would take care of it. Apparently, those are one time use items that once triggered are no longer good. Which means the pop up eliminator kit is only partially valid. You will still have to replace impact sensors. I am currently searching for a code reader specific to Nissan that will be able to clear the codes. Has anyone found one yet? I can say the Innova 5610 I bought will not work.
