A lap from this past weekend. Finally getting comfortable with the Nismo traction control mode. Honestly I don't think I needed to wait quite as long as I did before trying it but I figure better safe than sorry with that one. I think i left it on for this lap/session since it was first one after some rain

What's the cost for this? I need to make the trip from Florida.

So it really depends on how you break it down. If you're just looking at the money to register for the event, this one was $679 for 2 days with 3.5 hours of potential total tracktime each day. The organization I've been driving with, Chin Track Days, is definitely one of the more expensive choices but they do a great job with novice drivers and you are required to have an instructor in the car until you get cleared for solo.

Other things like track insurance can be an expensive addition. For me it was around $450 for 2 days of coverage. I attached an example schedule from the group i've been driving with.

I left my traction control on my Nismo alone on the track but just curious what you noticed when you turned it off and was it turned off completely?

I'll do comparison with my '25 Perf 6MT next year here at Buttonwillow 13CW. In the meantime in my Cayman S. Goal for the Z is to get similar times but doubt it as baseline. May even try the Nismo Dunlops before going to R-Comps.

So the first time I attempted to use the Nismo specific traction mode I messed up and was completely disabling it because I was pushing/holding the button twice after misreading the manual. I got a chance to actually try the nismo traction mode this past weekend. It's hard to do proper good testing without exposing yourself to a thousand different confounding variables for something like this but the big thing I noticed was the car felt just that extra bit more compliant in the corners and rotated easier/smoother

@sdktheway were you using stock brakes? I noticed you were braking quite early on some of those turns.
Dude I would be to, even though I know this track digitally by heart, I wouldn’t be comfortable until lap 10 after the tires warm up, crashing in tracks can be expensive.

On stock brakes yeah totally brake early. But that's why I was curious about if the brakes were stock or not. I upgraded all but the calipers themselves and used Carbotech xp10 and 8 when I was on the track. Braking much later than I did with stock brakes. Tires help too.
