Not crapping on anyone or anything…except Nissan…
I realize the OEM engine cover hides the intercoolers, but they could’ve done SOMETHING a little fancier with them. They look like two ECMs sitting on top of the engine.

I installed the piggyback and, well, it rocks but.....I have to play around with launch control as I am having a little difficulty with it and no place really to practice

Not applicable, but wanted to share. Got my new debit card yesterday and although he didn't give me permission (nor did he even know), I wanted to thank Matt @MCN1SMO for 'allowing' me to use his pic. I didn't have a good pic of mine. All of Nissan's beauty shots are of the Stealth Gray. And in my defense, I did find his pic on Google. Great pic!!!

Got to 1500 miles so did a first oil change myself. While down there I put on the Z1 Aluminum Service Plate shroud thing. Glad to have something tougher than than plastic sheet. The oil pan is plastic though and that freaked me out.

Yea, most would swap it out for the aluminum oil pan

Z1 and Concept Z both have great options

Traded my 23 Black N Blue 6MT in for a 24 Silver N Red 6MT and just got the new rig through the 1200 mile break in period. Ready to get on it.
Was it the colors that made you want to trade it in for a year newer?

No, but conveniently I was originally after grey n red prior to landing that black n blue. The black looked lethal and sexy for sure. It was a dealer finance promotion that shrunk my rate, term ,and payment somehow...lol.

So my Z1 filters came today and I was disappointed to learn that the Nismo Z doesn’t have the same size filter as the other VR30’s. It’s a bit wider. I didn’t want to do any of the intakes because all I’ve read is stressful stories of the install.

When you posted this, I actually had the HKS filters coming from Japan and I was concerned about the size and fitment.

But to my surprise, the HKS filter fitted my Nismo just fine. They were the exact same size.

I got the HKS Air Intake Parts Super Air Filter 70017-AN109 if anyone is interested.

The recent post from @C89 about the HKS filters got me curious about the air filters. All years and models call for the same filter. The one in your pic has 19 pleats and looks square, but the pics on Z1’s website are rectangular with 23 pleats. I think you got 370Z filters.
