Since it's already lifting, try using a hair dryer or heat gun and see if it just lifts off entirely. Or else you may try to use some fishing wire as well to separate the tape from the paint.

As this is only a few months old, I would imagine it will come off pretty easily.
Good suggestion! Thank you!

Make sure you pull up and sideways on the fishing line. Do not rub on your paint or you will scratch it. Ask me how I know.
If you are in SC do it in the sun on a hot day this summer. The hotter the day, the easier it will come off.
Also clean off the old sticky areas good. I use acetone. Many use goof off. Get rid of your old tape and go to home depot and buy this.

I have used this for years and nothing ever came loose. The tape they probably gave you is cheap Chinese knock-offs.

This is awesome, you are awesome. I will do just that. Thank you!! I used some kinda cleaner on my GT-R paint and ended up with a weird discoloration but I am assuming acetone doesn't do that? I will try goof off / goo gone and if no luck probably try acetone

Use goof off first if you are more comfortable. It should work. I use asetone because it doesnt leave a oily film. It also preps the surface for the new tape.
I have used acetone on my Challenger and Escalade so far with no issues. All clear coats are not the same. always use a test area before you try, good luck let us know how it goes.

Also, if you need to pry a tough area open, use the plastic car trim removal tools like these. You probably have these. These are must haves.

Will do!

I ended up grabbing the gorilla tape instead because it said weatherproof vs the other one saying weather resistant. It also had a wider temperature range (I think) listed on the packaging that goes up to 240*F so it sounded better to me.

Plus that woman that went viral who used gorilla glue on her head made me rofl so I just had to support the company

Here's some more pictures. I took them in the garage so it's kind of hard to see. Can take more tomorrow outside if needed. It looks WAY worse in the sun

Since its lifted, I don't think its that bad to remove. I removed the spoiler from the Miata and it did have scratches. I ended up reinstalling the spoiler and sold the car.

Btw, I have installed and removed several spoilers.

I have installed probably about 7 spoilers over the years. I installed the Z1 with the help of my brother. Less than one day, the side lifted like the OP.

I tried to pull it off and it cracked. What a waste of $300. Good thing the paint didn't crack. Of course a few dull spots as a result.

Question for you guys who installed this spoiler. Was that tape included with the it? Did you guys report it to Z1 and what was their reaction?

I installed this myself. I have done many installations (350z, Miata, Bmw all aftermarket). I didn't call them. Was hoping to pull it out cleanly but it broke. Its impossible to use fish line with this spoiler due to the shape/angle. I didn't want to use the heat gun.

It came with what I considered really good tape. The middle section was very tight (less than 24 hours install).

Here is my theory. The ABS flexes in the sun esp. at the curve. The local fellow Z owner has the same spoiler in carbon fiber over a year looks perfect.

The initial install, there was a gap about 1/8" near the light (right side facing the rear). You have to look down to see or run the fingers over it.

To do it right with the ABS, I believe you have to rig a bolt on each side of the spoiler and drill the holes through the trunk if you have a sport trim.

I think I would still report it to at least let them know that more than one person has had an issue. Also, it would seem that they could warranty the spoiler or maybe redesign it a bit.

Add another one to the list. The passenger side corner of mine is lifting up after about 3 months. Professionally installed, cleaned with alcohol prior, adhesive promoter, etc. Definitely will not be buying Z1 branded products again.

Once it gets bad enough, I’ll replace it with a different spoiler that hopefully covers any marks it leaves behind.

I wish I didn't get the Z1 under-shroud, the honeycomb pattern for the vent duct just traps a ton of leaves in it.
I have had issues with a few other of their products I have had to return. Return process is a nightmare too. I am in the same boat. Not a big Z1 fan.

Agreed, this is now the 4th Z1 product in a row that I’ve had issues with.
