I found a few 6MT Sport Zs for sale, I've been considering a Sport model for a while, and if I purchased one I'd eventually swap in the LSD from a Performance model.

My question, how's the traction control at preventing "disaster" in the Z Sport?

I've seen a concerning amount of wrecked Zs that appear to have wiped out from the typical "idiot behind the wheel of a powerful rwd car".

I have a 2021 Titan and the traction control on the truck is very good. In situations where my 2007 Titan would be a handful, such as in the rain, the 2021 Titan stays composed, and the traction control system seems to be programmed with just the right amount of intervention to keep the truck pointed the right direction without cutting too much power.
Most vehicles I've driven with traction control usually cut all power and are unable to smoothly correct vehicle trajectory.
I'm not trying to drive like an idiot, but trucks with powerful engines and a light rear end can be a handful, like a Z I suppose. Also, sometimes I'm an idiot.

With a Z I don't intend to power slide it everywhere, I'm just aware that if the power hits, even at moderate speeds, I am sure it can break traction pretty easily, and things like a crowned road or losing traction at the end of a sweeper could be disastrous.

I think the Z is fine to drive in wet weather, you just don't want to drive it the same way that you would on a nice sunny day with perfect pavement.

Where I've gotten into the most trouble is in the wet on straight-line, uphill freeway on ramps. I'll forget that it's wet and punch it. The tires break loose, and the back end gets squirrelly.

TBH, if the traction control is kicking in here, I can't tell. I'm generally not looking at the dash to see the little yellow light in such a situation. The good news is that you can tell right away (the car gives good feedback) and ease off the power to regain control. For all I know the computer is getting off the power before me.

I guess the answer, @takemorepills, is that I don't think traction control is that good. It's easy to lose control of this car.

I've had one sphincter tightening moment. Light rain, 2nd gear, about 50% throttle and the rear went sideways.
Luckily I had the brown underwear on.
Since then I'm very careful in the wet.

The Z goes sideways yes pretty quick. My track notes always start off with “the throttle is variable, not on off”.

This is especially true in 1st and 2nd. Once over 35 in third you can punch it and find 70 in a heartbeat.

As @takemorepills said the LSD requires a special touch, which I’m still learning.

Without much other Sports Car experience I do find the car predictable and controllable.

I've had no dramas in the wet, nor has my other half (she drove it in the wet and at night the first drive).
I would recommend trying it out on a skid pan or track to get a feel for the car before trying to drive it with spirit on a wet road in general, but this can be said for any car with HP.

Don;t become a mustang driver leaving a car meet :cwl:

traction isn't certainly isn't the best in wet conditions but interested to see how much it improves with something besides the OEM summer tires.

In my experience the traction control + tire bounce makes the car much more tame than a mustang or miata.
