Last week I finally got my exhaust installed. I went with AMS LDPs and the 3 inch AWE touring cat back and replaced the X pipe with the Z pipe... It sounds good, deeper and more mellow but I think the 3 inch piping makes the Z Pipe less effective (audibly) until redline. Still worth all the money spent because it comes with a keychain.

They keychain and Evo make it all worth it!

Regarding the Z-pipe...that's basically what Borla does on their ATAK systems.

Tell me more about this spec and why you chose it over other brands.
I know the sound of my performance manual is lackluster but nothing about exhausts.
is a LDP needed? Affect emissions?

my goal is to liven it up with deeper richer tones. Concerned about drone and being too obnoxious.

Avoiding being obnoxious was my 1st goal because I have a HOA to think of.... So for specs I needed a ln exhaust with an X pipe I could swap out that was wasn't to expensive. I went with AWE "touring" because the more extreme version was maybe too loud. The touring adds mufflers. My car was stock for the first two years, so now I feel like it's loud outside the cabin. It's not! Vs a Mustang or Camaro my lil Z car is very tame. The Z pipe makes a small tone change at the top of 2nd and almost at the top of 3rd. Between you and me, not worth the money but Im glad I did it. A LDP is not needed but this was the last of my "add power parts" before the tune. My mind set was "why only do some of the exhaust?" knowing that any additional updates will require another tune... I as all that to say this: if I had a 2nd chance, I'd do it the same again but it's hard to recommend to another Z owner because you get so little in return sound wise.
