Being that modern production-car canards, including those on the Nissan Z NISMO, are often far less aggressive than true motorsport dive planes because they must comply with pedestrian-impact and regulatory requirements, the actual impact of these on the Nismo are explained in the video (2:35 mark - view on YouTube for translation voice over) by Nissan, as little for downforce improvement and rather primarily for brake cooling via negative pressure and turbulence.
