Yep…. Meaning, if you want a car, you are gonna have to put up with the prices for at least the next two years, by which time inflation will, be so high that you won’t know the difference when supply issues do get better…strange as it may sound, now could actually be the time to buy. Particularly in Aus and Canada where we don’t have to worry about dealer mark ups
"The chip shortage is unfortunately here to stay. Experts predict it will last throughout the rest of this year and next year, and the situation will most likely only start to stabilize in 2024."
These chips for autos are so-called legacy chips, and not the same ones found in current electronics.^ Part of the problem is that there is also a shortage of chips for the machines making the chips!
It would probably help if everyone (public and manufacturers) got out of the ridiculous cycle of pointlessly upgrading their mobile phones, computers, etc. every year ... usually with minor tweaks and gimmickry nobody wanted anyway.
All chips have to be manufactured. With less pointless new gadgets being made, it could (depending on what machines can make what chips) allow more machine time for making the more needed chips. Car chips are also relatively unimportant - more import are the chips required to make things like medical equipment. These chips for autos are so-called legacy chips, and not the same ones found in current electronics.

Florida never disappoints.Another day in FL...
They recently announced that they're stupidly allowing driverless cars on their roads, without human drivers to take over when something goes wrong ... time to stay well away from Florida (although, judging by how "good" satvnavs are, you could easily run into one of them that has got lost and ended up in Canada or Peru!)..Florida never disappoints.
I love Florida!Florida never disappoints.
