Weapons nowadays!!

Thermobaric explosives, also called fuel-air explosives (FAE), use oxygen around them to generate a high-temperature blast. The blast wave typically lasts longer than a conventional explosive and has the ability to vaporize people.

"The [blast] kill mechanism against living targets is unique--and unpleasant...." reads a 1993 U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency study. "What kills is the pressure wave, and more importantly, the subsequent rarefaction [vacuum], which ruptures the lungs.... If the fuel deflagrates but does not detonate, victims will be severely burned and will probably also inhale the burning fuel. Since the most common FAE fuels, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, are highly toxic, undetonated FAE should prove as lethal to personnel caught within the cloud as most chemical agents."

Using such explosives is a breach of the Geneva Convention, which established guidelines for humanitarian treatment of populations in war.

From that story: "The Ukrainian president signed an application Monday for Ukraine to join the European Union. The EU has accepted Ukraine’s application and has commenced a special admission procedure to integrate the country, Eastern European media has reported."
ruh-roh, if they get accepted to EU during the war, doesn't that mean the EU goes to war with Russia?

Time to get spicy in here.

Thoughts on the SOTU? Overall I actually thought it was decent, but some shit IMMEDIATELY burned my soul.

He just fucking gave Putin a chance to punk his ass out (or, you know, punk the US in front of the world) by threatening a full force response if Russia hits any NATO country. Biden doesn't have the gall to mount something like that against the Russians.

Every time someone says gun manufacturers can't be sued I want to throat punch them. NO SHIT you can't sue them if someone buys one of their guns and commits a crime. Can I sue Budweiser for a drunk driver killing someone? Can I sue Craftsman if someone uses one of their hammers to smash someone's face in? Can I sue Cutco for someone using one of their knives to indiscriminately stab people to death? It's a fucking stupid, disingenuous argument. You can ABSOLUTELY sue gun manufacturers for the same sh!t you can sue other companies for. Gun malfunctions and causes injury or death? YUP.

Yes, they would be obligated to aid and assist by all available means since Ukraine is a victim in their own territory.

It sounds like it'll still take years before they are actually accepted as a member of the EU.

Unfortunately, joining EU is quite different from joining NATO (i.e. article #5 demands joint military action if one country is attacked.).
God bless Ukraine.
