Key fob issues should pop up on the main screen of the dash. This looks to be security system related. From the manual:

I got a message on my screen a few weeks ago. It was something like "Key Battery Low," but it hasn't come on since, so I'm hoping it was a glitch like some of the other messages.

The car is only about a year and a half old and has less than 700 miles on it, so I really hope the battery isn't almost dead. I had my 350Z for 20 years and I think I changed the battery once, maybe twice.

This happened to me earlier than expected, too. We figured out that it only happened when my wife was with me, and it was her key that needed a new battery.

It was a pretty easy DIY fix.

I'll have to get a replacement battery. Actually, maybe more than one if they're going to wear out that fast. Thanks for the tip!

I keep a spare key fob battery in all my cars, just to be safe, have been caught out before

Can confirm it was low battery

Talk about misleading info from the manual lol. Sounds like they try to scare you into going to the dealer because the manual says nothing about a fob battery if that icon is lighting up. Glad you got it worked out. On my frontier when the fob had a low battery it just popped up on the dash screen. I guess the Z works a bit differently.
