Anyone have any experience leveraging a VPP code from Nissan corporate to acquire a Z Nismo? Seeing conflicting information on whether that is covered or not.

Even if you get the code, the dealer will not honor it, especially on something like the Nismo. At least, that’s been my experience with any dealers within ~50 miles of me. I couldn’t even find one to honor VPP on a Frontier, let alone a Z!

Vehicle Purchase Program for Nissan employees. It used to be a decent deal, but ever since Covid, dealers just deny it. At least in TN. Not sure if the MS folks have better luck.

Dealers get reimbursed when a VPP code is used so there is no reason not to honor it unless they are asking MSRP for the vehicle. VPP sets the price 1000 under invoice and the dealer is reimbursed 1200. Most dealers in my region have their vehicles priced at invoice or less on their websites so VPP is a win win for dealer and customer.

Once in a while we do get an extra one from corporate to use as we see fit however it is few and far between (maybe twice a year). I dont see the average person being able to acquire one without knowing someone high up at the dealership.

Sure, if they are selling at invoice, but that only happens with stale models. They always ask a premium for new models. I was told flat out no by a half dozen dealers when I bought my ā€˜22 Frontier. One literally laughed in my face. We’re talking about a Z Nismo here. They’re gonna be selling these things $15k over MSRP, they don’t care about a $200 VPP reimbursement.

Not true. 2 years ago Nissan brought back the VGP incentive for dealers to sell x amount of cars every month. Dealers practically give cars away to hit that number because of that payout. Im not sure how they do things from where youre at but the Zs we get just sit, we cant get rid of them. We would sell them invoice minus hold back just to move them. That includes nismos. Id suggest shopping out of state and shipping the vehicle if thats what youre being told.

Hmm, all I can say is that’s not been my experience in this area. Granted, the last vehicle I tried to use VPP on was the new Pathfinder. In the middle TN area (Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro, Columbia), dealers basically treat you as hostile if you approach them with VPP. Maybe because there is HQ and multiple plants here, there are so many people trying to use it that it’s a problem for the local dealers? All I know is that my experiences with them have been so horrible that I’ve given up buying any more new vehicles, even with VPP. I just use the employee lease program now. Zero hassle and never have to set foot on a dealership lot again. šŸ‘šŸ¼
