I actually only have 1 question. I have done my research on the new Z so I don't have any questions about that. HOWEVER, I wonder if I will enjoy it as much as my M2C? What would YOU guys do?

LOL that's what I'm leaning towards. If I do like it and do end up wanting to get one, would you wait until the 2025 came out or buy a 2024 with a huge discount?

It may depend upon the color you're looking for, there are different offerings in each model year, thus far. Beyond that, there won't be many differences between them other than likely pricing. There's cash on the hoods of 2024 models in various markets so it's highly likely that you could find a motivated dealer and a discounted price point.

As to your original question, it's very hard to say. They'd offer rather different driving experiences, in my estimation. I've driven Supras and even those are very twitchy and focused-feeling compared to the Zed, which drives much more like a small, high-speed GT than a track animal. And that's just compared with a basic Supra which, while similar in some ways, is not the hardcore M2 that you're currently accustomed to.

Yeah, the M2C is very hardcore. Some days I like that and some days I don't. I've heard that the Z has a bit softer ride. The M2 is very rigid. Great for the track, but not so great for everyday driving.

I've never taken my car to the track. I'll just have to test drive one and see.

I'd keep the M2C honestly unless you are genuinely and deeply into the Z's history, lore and have a visceral attraction to the lines.

The M2 is so practical and fantastic at filling roles in a pinch that the Z simply cannot. It puts down power eons more predictably and I'd be shocked if any Z without an additional $10k in parts (including the Nismo) could best it on track. The M2C though... That's an epic piece of machinery that I'd personally not let go of for just about anything under 100k. You'd be going from one of the most sought after and hard to find vehicles to something they are darn near giving away.

If you love the Z wait another 2 years and grab a pristine low-mile perf for high 20s. Keep the M2C.

Disregard that last post, yeah if you aren't tracking it nor have a desire to, let it go. The Z is certainly softer but your test drive will not feel like you are stepping out of 1 sports car into another. Have you looked into an RS3? Bonkers car in its own right, exceeds practicality of the M2C while also having a legendary motor & awd and the tuning potential on it is incredible.

I don't think I'm going to disregard this post. I think you are right on. While I don't track it, I DO take it canyon carving on occasion and it's just amazing.

Add in the fact that I just paid for the registration for 2025 and I have 4 new Michelin PS4S tires on it, waiting a couple of years to add a Z and keep the M2C is the way to go.

Plus the M2C is paid off.

Something magic about the Z though, I'm pushing 50 and I damn near slept with it the other night after a post-PPF ceramic session. I haven't wanted to sleep next to a car since I was a kid with my very own Eclipse GS (not even a GSX haha).

Totally understand. I always catch myself looking back at my car when I leave it.

The Z in its stock form is the perfect daily ?. Just add a touring exhuast for some sound if yours comes with the big muffler and it should be a good addition to go with m2c. Otherwise, if you plan on replacing m2c with the z then just keep in mind that the Z is much much softer. Like alot softer and more on the comfortable side.

Tough call on the Z vs the M2 for many car guys. For me not at all. I have both a 23 Proto spec manual and a 24 Nismo Z. I sold my 22 C8 to make room for the Nismo. The Proto/performance in stock setup is definitely a GT sports car. To soft for me even as a Daily. I added Z1 sway bars, Nismo Coilovers lowered and set at 6, Borla Stype Exhaust, splash guard, Continental EC DWS06 tires and just last week 25mm Z1 spacers all around(love The results of these Mods. Now this car is absolutely perfect to me. I am with the other Z owners and can’t get out without turning back and grinning! To me it’s the sexiest sports car under 150k in the market. The Z has Character! I’ve owned several BMW’s and nothing but headache with repairs. The C8 was faster but lacked individual character IMO. I have kept
The Nismo all but stock. Added Nismo cold air intake and carbotech street brake pads to all But remove the wheel dust. The Nismo is perfect as it comes but tough to drive as a
Daily due to the stiff suspension and tire setup. Definitely faster but not as engaging as the Manual. I also DISAGREE with the mediocre reviews of the Z by car mags. In the end it’s the Z cars that satisfy my eye and driving style albeit with a few mods. Good luck on your decision. Long Live the Z!

I'm surprised. A BMW guy thinking about getting the Z and not the Supra or any of the BMW M series. Most BMW guys in your shoes would get the M3 or the M4.

One thing to point out is that on paper there are a lot of down sides to the Z. In track tests and comparisons, the Z just doesn’t cut the mustard. I’m sure you have seen all of the hate out there and I’m guessing this is part of your hesitation? (HOWEVER). The Z has such a deep history and following AND the bones are all there for greatness. With aftermarket support it is easy to make the Z perform far greater than where it sits from the factory. Nissan as a company isn’t in good shape and they still did what they could to keep it alive. It’s all Nissan through and through. On the contrary, Toyota has been in way better financial shape and they outsourced their two sports cars. Nothing against BMW but I was in Love with the Supra from the time I was 10 when my Dad picked up the first Supra Turbo in 87. The Mk 4 was my dream car for ever. When the new Supra came out and it was only Japanese from 20 ft away it disappointed me to the core. Back then, in 90 the “new” Z came out and then all the way through it was the other car to have. Such an amazing car. Even down to the titanium key it came with. To me, the new Z kept the dream alive and now it sits in my driveway. Slowly but surely I will have my Z untouchable by any stock Supra or M2,3,4. Etc. M cars are sick from the factory and very capable. But. You pay for it up front. I personally love making my car my own at the same time making it better and better in the ways I choose.

On top of that. Look around this forum. It’s full of people that are on the same team. We are respectful and helpful. Every other forum I’ve been a part of had a bunch of “engineers” telling you that you’re wrong and douche nozzles gaining their happiness by pissing in other people’s cheerios. I haven’t found that here at all. If you want a car that is an entry into an extended family of enthusiasts, get the Z and I personally think you won’t regret it.

You can literally buy a 2024 performance right now, for roughly 40k. Brand new… I’d go that option. If you want a 2025… wait till December or January. If you’re willing to wait and save 10k +, without a doubt.
