Hello!

I have some questions about putting the Z on 4 jack stands so I can install the exhaust system.

Does anyone know exactly where I should put the 4 jack stands underneath the Z? My 4 jack stands have a deep curve that is hard to put under the metal pinched weld. Because the deep curve is so deep, the jack stand does not touch the metal pinched weld. So I can not put the jack stands on the metal pinched weld. I have attached a picture for you to look at.

I want to lift the entire car up with the 4 jack stands.

Thanks!

I have the same problem with my quick-jack and the pinch-weld adapters, the slots are too deep for the Z and they would rest on the outer panels. Which would be bad. So I just use the normal rubber blocks which are basically like hockey pucks as far as density.

I have heard of people using a long 2x4 on pinch welds that run all the way from the front to the back under the jack stands but I don't know, that seems sketchy to me.

I made some jackstand pads out of hockey pucks (plenty of hockey pucks around here). I slotted them in a table saw and drilled a hole for neodymium magnets. They slip over the pinch welds at the notched jack points and are magnetically held there, using them as supports for jackstands or a lift. Probably no problems lifting or supporting directly on the pinch welds as Nissan recommends. To get the jackstands under there, I lift the car using a floor jack under the Nissan-recommends central lift points fore and aft.

I use tilt lift and use a piece of rectangular steel tube (2”x1”)covered with a rubber strip that runs along the length of the pinch weld. Need the steel to act as a spacer since the pinch weld gets buried below some plastic along the length of the “rocker panel” area. No issues…no damage to the pinch weld as the weight of the car is distributed evenly as opposed to a small area as in with jack stands.

I like that setup a lot.

I bought some "hocky pucks" with a slot for pinch welds and gave them to the tire shop when I changed the wheels. This is how they lifted the Z.

I put jack stands under the rear axle and suspension components. Much more solid.
