The value on our '15 Outback we got three years ago, with 25k less miles, is $1k more than what we paid.

Be careful on what you buy guys. With the used car market being so hot there are a lot of scumbags out there.

Him: "Whatever you do, please do not buy a used car right now."

Also him 3 seconds later: '...make sure to stay til later in the video because I'm going to give you some recommendations on buying a used car right now.'

I know a few people that have paid around MSRP lately on a new car, but honestly right now seems like a pretty miserable time to try and buy just about any car. One of the major reasons I'm likely to hold off on a car purchase until around 6-7 months from now and will reassess.

2 weeks ago we drove by a pileup on I-5, 9 cars smashed completely. Hopefully everyone was okay, but I feel bad that they are all getting thrown into the current market. It's not just that everything's too expensive, you may also not be able to find exactly what you want.

We bought a new 2020 Toyota a few years back, and when we took it in for service, the dealership offered us $4k more than we paid for it 19 months prior.... Cash, no strings attached.

I've also been offered $4k over what I paid for my Q60.

I might just sell the Q60 soon if I can profit a bit from it. Just got a new job that is close to home, cut 44 miles a day.... I can go back to daily driving my truck until I can get a Z.

Good in theory….just be careful.
I sold my car because of the price I could get, now I am stuck driving my sons car and wondering if the Z will ever arrive

Right!

Fortunately wifey has her own car, and I have a truck. I try to keep the miles off of the truck so it'll last longer, but my commute went from 28 miles to 5.5 miles.

My wife thought about selling her car, the initial thought of the profit had her thinking.....until I told her it'd be impossible to replace her car. Even you have the money.....good luck finding the same car (hers is a rare version, took us 6 months to track down)

Used car prices in Australia are sooo messed up right now. I keep a close eye on used Jdm sports car prices

Examples:
S15 - $50,000-$65,000
240sx (180sx in Aus) -$40,000-$50,000
Skyline GTR R32 - $120,000
Skyline GTR R33- $99,000
Skyline GTR R34- $230,000-400,000
Hilux $55,000 used, new it’s $65,000

I hope to pick up a S15 in a few years but who knows what they'll cost here by then. Trying to right the wrong I did by selling my S13 ?

GTR R34 would be the ultimate dream come true for me, but I'd love to own a GTR R33 as well. They aren't getting any cheaper or less desirable here, that's for sure lol

Yeah, I owned the most amazing S15 in 2014, I sold it in 2015 for $18,000 hahaha
It was a 2002 Spec R (Australian model. not imported)
Had 70,000 genuine Km on the clock
1 owner before me
I put around $8,000 worth of modifications on it, kept it for 2 years and sold it.
