So do you have to part of the exhaust off for the rear bar?

Yes, and loosen/lower the rear chassis braces (2 bolt each). The perfect time to do the job is during a catback exhaust install.

I already did the catback exhaust, but probably same as the 350z back in the days when I installed it.
