I prefer SD cards. If I need to save something off it takes 10 mins to get card and put in my PC or sync the video to my phone so the SD can keep overwriting itself.

Much better that cloud anything.

The purpose of cloud storage is for backup, and the subscription is optional. You can also store recorded videos on an SD card.

The main functions of this dashcam are remote monitoring (which, based on feedback, is what users like the most), GPS tracking, and video alerts. To support these features, cellular connectivity is required because a Wi-Fi dashcam can only connect to your phone within roughly 100 meters—beyond that, there’s no network. A 4G SIM card provides the necessary network. However, if there is no 4G data, the device will still work; it just won’t support some 4G LTE-specific features. In that case, it functions like a regular dashcam, and you would need to access videos through local storage.

Because it connects via the OBD port, the 24-hour parking monitoring feature remains active. One of our users even captured an incident where another car hit his vehicle in a parking lot while using the device without a SIM card.

Regarding the subscription fee, from the perspective of vehicle safety, the monthly cost is worth considering as an investment.
