So I Kissed the Curb with my Rim. Any Way to Touch Up?

It was bound to happen to me eventually, but I had hoped not this soon. I was parking on the street last night around sunset and managed to kiss the curb with the edge of the rim. Depending on the lighting it looks better or worse. Is there a way to touch up the anodized finish so it doesn't stand out so much in bright light, or I am just going to have to drop some big $$$ for a new rim at some point?

Some member recently curbed his sport wheel and fixed it. I think it was on the what did you do to your Z today thread . Could be wrong

I used a service when I curbed mine. It wasn't that expensive, and you can't see any evidence it ever happened.

do you have "Fix a Rim" / "Rim Dr" type businesses near you ?
do a google search


they'll give it a light sand and airbrush colour match it. It will be as good as new

I did the same thing. I took it to a wheel repair shop in Willow Grove,Pa. And they repaired it flawlessly.
I was super mad at myself for doing it. S—t happens.

Nice work! I wonder if anyone has the matching paint/code for the bronze OEM 19" Proto?

I did the same with my Performance, took it to a local shop cost $200 but they did an outstanding job plus has warranty on the work.

As others have stated, wheel repair shops should absolutely be able to fix that for around $150-200 or so. Search Google and Yelp to find someone highly rated with a solid reputation, a lot of these business offer a mobile service and can come to your home or office for your convenience.

Its a shade brighter than the OEM rim but if you are 3 ft away its not noticeable. Got the paint from Lowes.

Had a guy recommended to me that did an amazing job on the Proto rim.
