I'm pretty careful to not damage my car, so this really annoys me. The only thing that touches my console is a micro fibre cloth and a soft brush at the end of the vac. No rings, no watches, no coffee cups. So if you have not yet had this experience, be aware this material is pretty soft.

Any thoughts on how to repair/hide/protect this so it doesn't get worse?

Not sure if you are trolling or not given the image but in any case you have two options...

1. Never drive it if you want to hold as an investment for 20-30 years.
2. Drive it and enjoy it.

These aren't exotics... if that tiny infinitesimal mark is upsetting then it's going to get a lot worse for you over time. You should avoid driving outdoors, on highways and visiting shopping centres or any car park.

I'm all for trying to maintain a car as best you can.. don't get me wrong. But these things are going to happen with a car unless you are collecting rather than driving.

Hi GCZ, no, not trolling. Thank you for your thoughts.

I get it, it's not a Ferrari. But, it's new, hasn't even had the first oil change yet, and I just want to enjoy it in as pristine condition as possible for as long as I can. Yes, it is a daily, and yes, it will eventually get a door ding, stained seats etc. Not my first new car...

What I do know, is things that are not repaired get worse, hence the request for input. The plastic material on the console seems to be easy to damage, so perhaps others out there have had a similar issue and can offer some help.

Attached is the original image, showing the area in context with the coffee cup holder and the switch blank.

Maybe try CarPro Perl?
It's help fill in the scrap and provide a black finish.
Less is more with Perl
Thanks. I'm not familiar with that product but I'll look for it locally.

Awesome!
I've get to use it for interior plastics and all, but the product is intended to do so.
As well as a tire polish/shine - which is what I have been using it for.

CarPro is not available in my local brick and mortar stores.
Also being in Canada, I buy from a Canadian distributor online.

Overall, have been loving my CarPro products!

All good and as mentioned, I'm all for trying to maintain a car. It might be my older eyes but I can barely see it in your images and if it wasn't zoomed in so much, I doubt anyone would notice.

That plastic is unbelievably soft, this kind of marring if inevitable if you actually plan to drive the car. Mine is a garage queen that I plan to keep low mileage and immaculate, and this kind of stuff really bothers me, too! An option I’ve considered is just buying a back up center console, all of the pieces up to the radio. The parts are relatively cheap and very easy to replace. It’d give you a little peace of mind and let you be more chill about wear knowing you can go back to new at any time!

@GCZ made a good point about a daily getting marked over time, I think we can all appreciate that, and, I realized what caused the damage today, as I tend to rest the arm near the shifter and a button on the long sleeve shirt catches that part of the console, so some damage is inevitable. And, yes, the material is soft as butter, which doesn't help.

If this is the least amount of wear on the interior then that would be good. But I have the Sport, with the fabric on the dash and doors, and I'm casting a cautious look at that too...

Actually the front cup holder just pops out to put in buttons. So it’s replaceable without much trouble. I’d just buy some dummy buttons with a slightly larger bezel, swap them in & be happy. If you decide to add interior lighting or need an extra mod switch- you’re ready to rock. If you want to go down that route DM me & I’ll send you a link to buttons that look stock.

That may be a good option. Thanks.

Buttons with bezel:

I bought them for $11 ea & shipping was $9

I don’t think the ones I bought would cover all of the damage. They may need an even wider bezel. Any Full Size switch, 1/4” tabs should work. I thought these looked OEM.

Thanks for the info. Access is gained by removing the cup holder or does the console have to come off?
