In general, do they wear on your hubs at all? And if so, is there a max you should go before this happens?

Thanks!

If you want the super technical explanation, this is a good resource: https://www.theautopian.com/our-suspension-engineer-tells-you-his-opinion-on-wheel-spacers/

tl;dr though, yes, it definitely increases wear on your wheel bearings in particular. I'm currently running 20mm spacers in front and 25mm in back. Handling is still fine. That's decently wide, but still acceptable.

For reference, Z1's stock fitment kit (https://www.z1motorsports.com/wheel...an-stock-wheel-fitment-kit-by-z1-p-42293.html)
is 4 20mm spacers if you select the stock option, and 4 25mm spacers if you select the lowered option. So they're willing to recommend spacers of that size as well. Anything a whole lot larger than that, and you should probably just get new rims instead I'd say.

For me, the plan is to run these spacers while I do coilovers, control arms, etc so that I can sanity check my fitment and driving characteristics with my particular setup. Then I'll order appropriate rims to eliminate the spacers while keeping the same offsets.

I’ve got the Z arriving in the next week or so here in Australia, we only get the Performance model.
20mm spaces all round on stock wheels should be OK?
I’m planning on getting these springs too.

I believe the 20mm spacers are good for stock height . If you lower the car , you might want a 25 mm rear .

I bought the z1 package which came with four 20 mm spacers but my Z will stay at stock height .

@AlanZ Can you help me with something? I do not understand why lowering a car makes 25mm spacers a better option than 20mm. If I am lower, wouldn't a want my tires to be sticking out by 5mm LESS so I don't rub the fender lip?

When you lower the car it will induce more negative camber, tucking the tops of the rims in closer to the car, allowing you to run bigger spacers. If you get adjustable arms to correct this additional negative camber, then it's a different story.

Something to be aware of is that it illegal to run spacers in Australia. Technically tyre shops are not allowed to install spacers on a road car, or even put your wheels back on with the spacers fitted. You can probably get them engineered but ain't nobody got time for that, and if you are spending money on an engineer cert you could just get new wheels instead for that money. Engineering is not cheap

The chances of getting defected for spacers is slim, but it's a possibility if you get a pissed off highway patrol officer or if the rozzers are on a car defecting binge that weekend or if they bust an entire car meet and go over everyone's ride with a fine tooth comb. Not unheard of.

Thanks Darkhorse... I've known about tyre shops not wanting to install them... and possibilities of police.

Can you recommend a local supplier who sells good quality ones? 20mm.

Thanks!

I use Bonoss ( formerly BloxSport). They were the only ones who would do a hybrid hubring+spacer. So I have a 73.1mm to 56.1mm hubcentric 5mm wide spacer. Many others re-brand their spacers as well ( including well known aftermarket companies).

I’m not sure what caused this. I have tried to contact the company both by phone and email and no one is getting back to me. It is only the rear other than that the car looks good and drives good.

Did you find the factory lugs to have enough length with the Z1 spacers? I'm ordering these. I track the car and don't know if I should put in longer lugs.
