the comments say it could have been a medical issue?

so my local group is super strict about anything beyond walking speeds past the finish line where this occurred. they are also rightfully strict on workers not being on their phones as I believe there was an incident earlier this year before I was back running where a worker got hit from not paying attention. I know a lady from our group had a heat stroke at an event the a few weeks ago and almost died.

It's interesting to read about the variations of that site setups in the comments. I'm sure SCCA tries its best to design courses per the regs, it has always been that way when I used to autox years ago. This is so unfortunate, as any sudden medical condition can be totally unpredictable as in the outcome. But true that ANY course design should not expose heavy traffic areas, let alone the hapless in porta-potties!

My thoughts and prayers are with the families, they both have been long-time autox'ers and part of that community. Huge loss!
