I see this a lot on transport trucks here in the US, usually on higher end cars. Its to protect the finish.

So what’s everyone’s thoughts on the Red and Silver..late they for showing (like blue and yellow) are they for dealer testing…are they for sale??

I’m interested in what their purpose is and where that sits in the roll out of the Z

Nissan typically rolls out some early production models for PR and internal use. These are not for sale and may end up as show cars before the actual roll out and sale starting next year. Since I've always had red Zs, I like the new passion red, and would like to see it with all the body protection tape off and the black roof for contrast.

after looking again, this red looks much brighter than the renders we've seen. the pics that were a bit darker and muted seemed to really suit the z...

For sure…that’s one thing that is perfection at Mazda….that red

That is EXACTLY how I describe the color of my 2014 Q60. I am not sure, but the Z on the transport looks like the same color as my Q60, "NAH". Nissan has been throwing this color around for over a decade now, has even been on the Versa, and I have never really liked it.

Didn't think about it before, but the red Z above has the red side markers and amber in the headlights, so it should be headed to NA.

I'm in the same boat. My last red car was back in the day I had a Celica GT-S 6-spd body kitted out and everything and I had it painted House of Kolors Kandy apple red, true multi-stage, and it was gorgeous. I know this wouldn't look that good, but if it's close it could second guess me from Blue.
