Nissan Z roadster coming? What about a T-Top, Targa Top, or Shooting Brake?

Love your choice of cars!

Not to hi-jack the thread - but would love to hear your thoughts on these 2 cars. How would you compare/contrast these 2 models? Love them both but being 6'2", i find the car to be difficult to get in/out and the seating position is too upright. The 350Z ahs that cheap-easily-scratched interior and the 370Z is world class interior (later models).

But I too would love the Vert, but not hearing anything good about that option. I think with the problems seen on Nissan/Infiniti models with the verts, they may be shying away from it.

Ok this My thoughts between the 350/ 370. I’m 6 foot the 370 is a little bit Roomy and the interior is far more superior not plastic like 350 . Drives a lot better and handles awesomely. It also has shelving in the back seats that you get to from each seat, driver and passenger sides very nice touch ! 350 did come with extra cup older on the driver side and 370 does not. But 370 also comes with another glove box behind the drive side for your manuals. The 350 comes full leather seats and heated and 370 is partly leather and synthetic that gives you air condition seats and heat!! The lines on 370 is a lot more sexier and the back of the car is wider and comes with stager wheels. The big differences between the 350 rag top is you have no Latch to disengage. And the 370 is fully automated with a touch of a bottom! The big thing in 370 is the rag top inside is completely upholstered looks like part of the car! And it makes A beeping sound once it’s down or up! A real nice touch!! I personally prefer the 370 more due to Technology in it! USB ports, information about car maintenance, maps, weather alerts etc… you won’t be disappointed in the 370. I hear a lot of issues, my thoughts is if you put more aftermarkets things in the car you bound to get in trouble. I truly believe the car wasn’t design for aftermarket parts so stick with nissan parts to avoid unnecessary problems! Reliability on both cars is outstanding!

Slim chance, but a hardtop convertible would be nice to see.

I dont see Nissan making another roadster anytime soon. Wasnt sales for the droptop Z34 pretty low?
According to this site...

https://www.carscoops.com/2019/05/nissan-370z-roadster-gets-the-axe-as-company-focuses-on-the-coupe/

Nissan doesn’t break down coupe and convertible sales figures, but the 370Z Coupe was likely more popular with consumers as 2019 model started at $29,990. The Roadster, on the other hand, had a base price of $41,820 and was available exclusively with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Even though we don't have official numbers of a break down I think it's safe to say the coupe handedly outsells the roadster. For every ten Zs I see on the road I think only like one is a vert.

Nissan never expected to sell the Roadster model in significant quantities. The 350Z and corresponding drop top version (which was a horrific adaptation of the 350 coupe) had an even larger sales gap than the 370 did and they still introduced a 370 Roadster in 2010 (which was far more attractive than the 350 Roadster ever was) after knowing all that. If Nissan is serious about going more "up market" with the 400 and claiming to compete for customers of the Porsche 718, Jaguar F type, BMW Z4 etc... it will have to offer a Roadster within a year or two. The incremental costs are not significant and it extends the cars appeal to attract potential buyers of either version.

But who knows ... Nissan as not been very supportive of the Z since the 370 was released and its decision to abandon sales of the new Z in Europe is not a good sign.

I think sales in general, regardless of model, were heading in that direction. It appeared the car needed updates all the way around, and it appears Nissan may have hit the nail on the head with this one. Build a roadster and I bet they won't have a problem selling em ... and I'll be helping that movement out! T's or targa's... no thank you. They look good but just not convenient or practical IMO.
