I think it might be a little louder than stock. But, it's pricey. You would think that Nissan would have put this exhaust on an actual Nismo Z, since they claim this to be a track focused car. However, I think the only way to make the VR30 sound good is going lower down pipes.
Loud compared to what? I have the track version and it's loud but not obnoxious. In my opinion it's just right. Down pipes do need to be bigger though.
compared to the 9speed one. not sure if canada had the track version or street one equipped but for the tone it was good but not msrp 3000 cad good.
So, it's just a little louder than the stock exhaust on the 9 speed... I can get the Nismo exhaust from my local dealer for $1900.00. I do wish you could get a better sound out of just a catback exhaust, but it is what it is. When I got my Motordyne exhaust for my old 370, that thing cost as much as the Nismo, but it sounded awesome compared to the options we have for the vr30.
Although the exhaust that Borla makes for the RZ34 is very different from the Nismo exhaust.
So, is this one in the photo below a Borla or a Nismo? Got this from Nissan parts website.
