I work in vehicle manufacturing engineering for Toyota, from what i hear from co-workers it's a licensing ploy by Apple and Google. They restrict certain regions and trims on who can and cannot have wireless Android Auto/Carplay.Yes it's true, my dealer contacted Nissan Canada Reps and they confirmed. I'm just as confused about it. It's the same hardware same touch screen same display size, just no wireless
in this situation Nissan did not pay for the Canadian licensing for wireless but paid for the USA one.
Happens with Honda too down to the trim level, 2024 CRV Sport is wired, 2024 CRV hybrid is wireless even though its the same hardware.
Solution: Drive to Buffalo NY to a Nissan Dealer and claim wireless is "broken" have them reflash the firmware and drive back to Canada with wireless.
