Nissan Z Canadian discussion (owners or soon to be!)

Yes it's true, my dealer contacted Nissan Canada Reps and they confirmed. I'm just as confused about it. It's the same hardware same touch screen same display size, just no wireless

I work in vehicle manufacturing engineering for Toyota, from what i hear from co-workers it's a licensing ploy by Apple and Google. They restrict certain regions and trims on who can and cannot have wireless Android Auto/Carplay.

in this situation Nissan did not pay for the Canadian licensing for wireless but paid for the USA one.

Happens with Honda too down to the trim level, 2024 CRV Sport is wired, 2024 CRV hybrid is wireless even though its the same hardware.

Solution: Drive to Buffalo NY to a Nissan Dealer and claim wireless is "broken" have them reflash the firmware and drive back to Canada with wireless.

Could it be the the 8in screen canada got? I believe that one was not built in wirelessly but the 9inch does?

Welp.... you're right. All Canadian trims (performance + sport) get 8 inch screens. Sports US trim gets 8 inch while Performance gets 9". That explains the wireless. Ignore my co-workers' conspiracy theory.

Where as Nissan Canada only gets the 8 inch

I should start measuring everything now.

Should make sure i got the 19 inch rims...and LSD

I guess only Americans get all the fun

Welp.... you're right. All Canadian trims (performance + sport) get 8 inch screens. Sports US trim gets 8 inch while Performance gets 9". That explains the wireless. Ignore my co-workers' conspiracy theory.

Yes wireless comes with NAV option. We don't get it in Canada.

Keys in hand. Ceramic coat and detailing done. Exhaust and downpipes installed. Can take it home any time I get a chance or figure a way out! Nice low idle, a little bark at throttle. Sounds great!

Honest no, not at all! Boulder was my close second at the time, but they actually have a blue on hand here too in the show room. And for some reason my eyes keep going to the boulder now. It's so stunning in person and he pearl makes he colour change so much it gets a different attitude in each lighting scenario, I really like it

Have yet to see a boulder grey one or any color besides the red ? glad u like it!

I'm sure it's possible, is there any extra modules or anything that go with the 9"? If it's just the head unit, I'm sure it'd be a direct swap

I'll have to do some sound clips when I get it home. Im running the MAPerformance full catted downpipes and the Fast intentions non resonated TDX system. My dealer has a few photos he took from when they installed the system, I'll get him to send those over
