Has anyone done a blackout job on your hood and rear Nissan badges that match the dark gray color of the Rays wheels on a 2025 Z Performance? They are pretty dark wheels but arnen't black. I think it would look good but curious if anyone has done it and happy with the result how it looks against the glossy black rear panel, etc. Also what method you used?

The Hyperdip or Plastidip route looks like the best option, but I'm unsure if that method works on the rear badge with the glossy plastic around it (does the dip stick to surrounding platic?) and also being the trunk button under there...

I had a can of Plastidip Hyperdip in my cabinet, so I did the cheap recolor. Has a nice metal flake in sunlight.

Thanks for the pics, that's exactly what I'd like to try out. Sounds like it should be 100% removable later if I don't like it.

I wasn't sure how it would work with the rear badge. When you sprayed it did you peel away only around the outside of the badge and left the plastidip alone in those areas inside the circle? Or were you able to peel away the dip inside there also so it's only covering the surface of the badge itself?

You can peel both outside and inside the lift button area, as the badge has enough of a dividing line to make a clean peel. You do have to work a bit inside the handle, as it is tight and a lighter coat takes more friction to release everything deeper in.
