I just picked up my Nismo Z last week. I like the stock nismo exhaust, but I want it a little louder. Does aftermarket axle back go well with the nismo? I could find only performance Z installed axle back so far on youtube. Did anyone with nismo Z change your exhaust here?

A lot of people have changed it on the Z Nismo. I had the AWE Touring on for a little bit and really liked it. It sounds similar to stock, but deeper and louder. I sold it to another forum member because I wanted my car to be quieter again (I started driving the car more on the highway). He said he loves the way it sounds as well. There are many more aggressive exhausts that you can get if that's what you like. However, you have to be careful of drone at certain RPM's. I have no tolerance for drone, and the AWE Touring is great when it comes to that. It has a special design (180 Deg Technology) that eliminates drone.

Thanks. I totally forgot how much drone will bother me since I only had driven on factory sport exhaust on other cars for a long time. Thanks for the explanation. I will try AWE axle back.

I believe AWE is a cat back only.

Go with the AWE, it’s a cat back, but totally worth it, it really opens up the exhaust. The car sounds like an exotic car with the AWE, very clean and no drone, it’s super quiet on the highway. Im thrilled with the AWE, can’t say enough good things about it.

If you love drone, the Stillen Street series from 2000--2500 RPM is for you. (The band that your car sits in 95% of the time while cruising.)

I have a video of the Competition Series which was the thread I made a couple of days ago, I cannot speak on behalf of the Street Series.

I got a EOS axle back installed and super loud at 2500-3500 rpm. can't imagine how loud it can get when a cat-back exhaust was installed. I am satisfied so far. I will share the video soon.

I only drive my nismo only 2 times a week and I still think it's really loud (turns all the heads i mean every single head when driving around the city center in Carmel, Indiana) with having the rear end only. how do you guys deal with having the whole 3 inch catback and downpipe... that would insanely loud... compared to nismo z, my 911 is just a quiet sedan...

I have the AWE Tunning Exhaust full 3 inch cat back, and it's not loud at all. Has a nice exotic refined sound and is nearly silent on the highway.

Quiet but powerful, and ready for your future modifications. We consider our exhaust to be one of the top five "first mods" that an automotive enthusiast can equip. 🔥🔥
