I don't know car strereo stuff or audio stuff in general. I think I already know the answer to this, but here goes anyway...
Is there a decent sub that fits in the OEM spot that I could hook up and go, or will they all take some kind of special wiring and/or other parts (amp, etc...)?
Reading many of these audio posts...with the "RMS" and "Ohms" and "Watts" and stuff remind me of trying to get through Trig at FSU. For some reason it's like a foreign language that I just can't grasp.

You may want to find a local independent car audio shop where you live and talk to someone.

Just a bunch of Ohms Law stuff.

At a high level, impedance (Ohms) is the load that the amplifier sees.
Wattage is the product of the voltage and current, which really equates to how much output the amp can drive
RMS is really just a measure of how much of that output the amp can drive in a usable range and how much power the speaker is comfortable within using the same measure

My guess is that the Bose amp has not changed much in the past decade other than speaker placement and tuning for the specific environment inside the G, Z, Q and other Nissan products.

If that's true then the amp is pushing around 200W total.

Lower impedance, a good amp will drive at higher power/wattage levels, so that's a good thing if the amp is stable with that type of load. Not sure about the Bose amp. Also, if the existing subs are open air (not is a sealed or ported enclosure), then they are really more for low frequency fill.

There is a good thread here if you want to red pill on the topic: https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-video-and-electronics/279822-2013-g37-sedan-bose-analysis.html
