Need help choosing a coolant system vacuum filler kit - for heat exchanger upgrade

any recommendations for a budget “one time use” vacuum filler? Looks look they are a dime a dozen…

Will the right kit cover the overflow vent in the expansion tank? or will i need to add a cap or hose \ bolt method to seal this off with any of the kits?

i noticed that some kits come with a cone-shaped rubber universal adapter whereas other have adapters that fit the neck. Will the cone u-adapter seal the overflow vent?

I did mine with the OEMTOOLS Refill kit. Worked great and was very easy to use.

It worked flawlessly on my BMW when I serviced the heat exchanger and radiator. To address one of your Q's - the cone design is so it can seal on a wide range of tank openings.

You'll also need a compressor. I have a couple, but use a "pancake compressor" with the vacuum pump, as it's small and easy to operate.

I used a cheap set of hose pinch-off clamps to seal both hoses close to the exchanger to minimize coolant loss, swapped the new exchanger in place, reattached the hoses without removing the clamps, then filled the new exchanger from the vent port on the top with a small funnel and hose. Once filled to overflowing I reinstalled the cap and only then released the hose clamps. Minimal fluid loss, no air pockets, no vacuum draw on the system required. Runs nice and cool.
