Hey fellas. Picked up my whip a few months ago. F’in love it. Only 4,500 miles on stock tires. I hear nothing good about the stock tires especially how fast they burn off.

Just noticed in the garage my rear tire about flat. Found what looks like a 1/4” bit penetrated the inside sidewall. No repair.

So, gonna have to replace. Wasn’t ready to do full set of tires just yet. But, replacing 1 tire is always frowned upon.

My question is what’s the widest rear tires we can get without spacers tgat everyone is running. (Front as well as I want to complete the set)

Was planning on the Continental Extreme Contact for longevity daily driver (thoughts)

I'm running 285/35's on the back.
My guy at the shop said 295's would fit on those rims as well. Might try that for the next set

Even zoomed, it looks like your tire is touching the wheel well. I’m sure it’s not, but my brain can’t figure it out.

Haha yeah it does like that in that pic. 😅
I can guarantee you it is not though.
The diameter is only about 9mm bigger than the stock ones

How much clearance to you have from the wheel wells, that pic does look close!

I went ahead and purchased a set of 295 for the rear. Got a mounted, no tire rub. Plenty of clearance.

The tire comes out about a centimeter past the rim now giving it a beef for your look. Looks more aggressive, which I’m a fan of.

Traction has definitely gotten better. Now I’m really only chirping second versus spinning second, so putting that power to the ground better now.

Taking the turns, I can feel the back end is a little bit more heavy now coming out of corners. But I kind of like that it gives it more of a retro feel. With the electronic steering pump with this vehicle steering is just too easy. So it gives you just a slight bit of resistance on the back end when you’re hitting some corners, nothing crazy. Feels good.

I am a fan.
