That is crazy how different they are.

I heard people whine about how "quiet" the Z is I guess they drove the manual. :)

I thought for a sports car from Japan right right out of the factory it had good, decently loud sound. Didn't realize it was cause I had an A/T that mine sounded louder.

The front Y pipe on the m/t is a straight pipe. The forward A/T pipe has silencers built in.

You can mix and match depending on the sound level you would like. Bolts up super easy.

I liked the complete A/t exhaust. Straight pipe was too loud.

Right? I was so surprised at how decent mine sounded relative to what I'd been hearing/reading that I was initially convinced it had an aftermarket exhaust on it!

I didnt like how the stock manual axleback sounded like a whisper for a sports car. Pulled the trigger and picked up a used Auto axleback

Sound clip speaks louder than words

PS. Im not a Youtuber 😉

I can not believe the difference!

I was having trouble driving my m/t car when I first got it because I could not hear it. Now it's perfect.
Ha. Good to hear you mention this. I thought it was a placebo when I drove around the block. Engines feels so much better and smoother through the gears and rpms

Took me a while to find someone selling just the axleback. More than not, they wanted to sell their whole system or pick up only

Got my entire exhaust (3 pc) for $200, on FB marketplace from someone who had a Nismo that wanted a CrAZy race exhaust.

Had to drive 2 hrs but was well worth the trip.

nice improvement. Do all automatic cars use the same axleback / muffler & tip portion? Or is the Nismo part different from a Sport & Performance?

Right, Automatics have the louder exhaust that have a smaller rear muffler but resonators on the front Y pipe. Switch that front Y pipe to a manual straight pipe and its LOUD.

The manual has the huge muffler (very quiet) in the back with no resonators on the front Y pipe.

Both bolt right up with no modification between the two. You can mix and match the different parts of the two to get your desired exhaust note.

I prefered the complete automatic exhaust. Just loud enough without being obnoxious.

This is very easy to do as well, just backed up the car on some ramps and unbolt the parts.
