Lowering springs question

I am on the fence of getting some lowering springs for my 26 Performance. I only want to lower the most 0.5" on the front, and 0.75" in the rear. Mostly for cosmetic reason. I already have a set of Eibach sways front and rear. I am fully satisfied with how my current suspension is set up.

Of all the lowering springs out there looks like the RSR lowering springs will fit the bill. I have two questions. One is even RSR's description says its springs are designed to work with the stock shocks. Will they prematurely wear out the stock shocks. Second question is with that modest drop will I need an alignment?

Anyone out there who has these RSR springs please feel free to chime in.

Had RSR springs and it definitely needs an alignment after install. It gave me a 3/4 drop.

For informational purposes for your question.

It is always recommended to match lowerings springs with lowering shocks/struts. Doesnt have to match brand for brand.

90% who go with lowering springs, just slap them on stock shocks/struts. No issues doing it, but can prematurely degrade the stock shocks/struts.

How do you like your RSR springs compared to stock spring rate. I'd like some better handling. But the stock ride is pretty comfy for what it is.

I have the RSR springs, and the drop was perfect, and the ride is amazing. I think overall the spring rate is only 10-20% stiffer, which is all you really need on the stock shocks. It's really a solid set up and drops the rear a bit more then the front. Yes, you will need an alignment, I was able to get mine in spec without any aftermarket parts at all. Also, it may wear out the shocks a little faster, who knows, but honestly stock shocks are cheap and tons on ebay.

RS-R Downs here, very happy with them. Did not notice very much increase in stiffness over stock, but improved handling overall. Still added Z1 swaybars just to dial it in. Not disappointed.

Negative, cheap reps, Circuit Performance CSF1s in 19x11 and 19x9.5.

I really wish the sport models came with that lowered stance. It looks better plus you mentioned it handles a bit better. Do you feel if I’m going to a track with mine just to leave it stock?

Road course or drag? If you plan to road course and are not super experienced, then the stock sport will be fine until you start pushing the car. However, when you track any car, there are some baseline upgrades, unless it's just a track day once or twice a year. Upgrade the brake fluid to dot4, better brake pads, and a proper set of tires. On the Z, the heat exchanger may also need an upgrade, so budget for that.
