Keep an eye on the "Nismo" logos on each box cover. The letters can detach over time. On mine the "I" fell off. Luckily I found it but haven't reattached it yet.

I've also heard about that. I'm considering getting the Nismo CAI, would you recommend to potentially take off all of the letters when it's new, and super glue it down or something before installing/using?

The letters coming off is one of two issues I have with that intake. I’ve seen pictures where it appears all letters have been removed on both sides. Assume one or more came off and they gutted both logos. Hoping they’ve changed their adhesion method, or something, to fix that. Pitiful for a $500-$600 setup to have a defect that seems like it would be easy to solve.

#2 is the filters. I’ve read they’re dry, which I prefer. But I can’t seem to find anyone selling replacements. Or has civilization advanced so much we can now clean dry filters?

@FSUZ33 @C89 So far I only had one letter fall off but I also tracked the car twice so maybe the heat loosened it. Nissan's QA/QC as of late hasn't been up to par, especially with nismo parts they contract for manufacturing. They probably send the order out and never check them. My Nismo track exhaust needed to be re-welded at the part that attaches to the CAT/LDPs. And yes these filters can be cleaned. I used foaming bathroom cleaner which worked a little too good and took some paint off the metal grill...woops!

Did they change the nismo intakes up mid production?

I haven't had any issues with my lettering falling off. In fact it seems like it would be very difficult for them to come loose. On mine the lettering isn't just a sticker or decal, its like the lettering is molded in.

Yeah mine are the same way. They're molded in but it still came loose

Maybe they made 50K of them all at once. If it's continuous production they really should fix it. I realize it's not a critical flaw, but that's pitiful. Something you'd expect from a Temu knockoff.

Love my intakes.. definitely recommend this modification. The driver side was a pain in the ass. Driver side is much easier. Definitely recommend some long extensions.

Appears to be 100% agreement that the passenger side is a pain. For those who haven’t suffered through it, but plan to, should you start with the driver or passenger side?

Mine are great as well, smaller profile and in a stock engine bay they look relatively at home. Thought about doing the install on mine but out of an abundance of caution for warranty reasons I had my local dealer do it at the time.

I think I got a good deal on the install, $150.00 for labor and the tech had them done in an hour. My experience at that dealership has been an anomaly for sure compared to the trash heap that is other Nissan service departments.

Speaking from unrelated experience, I'd honestly just tackle the more difficult side first. I think having the long screwdrivers to release those clamps makes for a significant reduction in frustration.
