JB4 Tuner? 🤔

Just purchased a 27 Sport a few weeks ago. Was daily driving a Mustang GT for the last 3 years. Ive added an AWE track exhaust to the new Z and wanted to plug in a JB4 tuner after i hit the 1200 mile mark to up the HP and torque just for normal driving as im more used to a 500 hp car and the stock z setup is a little too sluggish for me.
Has anyone had any bad experiences with this tuner, and can i run it on a Map 3 tune (5.5psi boost) with 93 octane without adding anything else to the car?

I'm digging my V2, relatively easy install, flawless BT connectivity and good app. I still need to hit the Race maps, but will soon.

Edit: Stillen advised that any setting adds to the console normal/sport mode, so with console set to Sport, my current setting is Sport 2 + 1. Will also add that this is a great way to add without a tune, easily removed should you need dealer inspection/warranty work. I think several went this route before getting a tune.

I had the Trucontrol on my Z before going to a tune. Similar idea, just without the OBD connector. Worked fine for what it is, but very limited since all it was doing was playing with the boost signal from the MAP sensors.

Had the JB4 on two past vehicles with solid results, a '21 Supra and a '21 Mercedes AMG A35. Made noticeable improvements on power. But it does not do anything for engine codes or interfacing with the O2 sensors or actual boost levels. It just bends the signals within an acceptable safe range and you get what you get. Nothing like the results for a real tune.

Hey Justin. I have a leased 2024 Z Sport. Installed the JB4 kit. Easy install if you a wee bit of experience with under the hood. No problems. I live in northern Michigan so the Z will be in storage soon. The lease ends next Spring so I will be removing the JB4 this Fall. If you are interested in buying the kit, let me know.
