A lot of reviewers praise the Z but say Supra is faster and has a better engine. I don't know much about this engine plant vs supra's.. What do you all feel?

The B58 is a great engine and doesn't appear to have some of the same issues as its predecessors. I6, closed deck, underrated factory output, gobs of torque, high ceiling... just some of the things that I like about it. I'd own one if they paired it with a manual in a new car that I could stand to look at. The VR30 is no slouch either but I'll probably end up in a S58 powered car at some point instead.

The b58 is better and faster. The engine is the heart of the car but not everything. I think most Future Z owners are in it for the total
Package, heritage, nostalgia and not worried about being the fastest.

Yes. The B58 is superior. Closed deck, I6, decades of BMW knowledge. Just watch the Savage Geese vid when the tuners talk about it. B58 has a much, much higher ceiling.

they both have their positives and negatives.

maybe another question that we should ask is which would you rather have? let's look at twist of the classic choice triangle...

1. fast
2. reliable
3. cheap to maintain

you can't have all 3, so pick 2
