I own a '24 manual and may have an issue with my VDC system (but wanted to ask, first.) The owners manual, and videos online show these new Zs with two different traction control options.. one tap of the button and it's supposed to (I think?) disable stability control, while holding it completely disables VDC.. right?

Anyways, I get no light on my dash when hitting the button once.. I have to hold it down until it disables it entirely. Is this normal for the manual cars or something?

for 2024 they changed how the button works across all models to accommodate for the the Z NISMOs exclusive traction mode. in a 2023 you would simply press the button. for 2024 they had to modify this because on the NISMO you hold the button for 5 secs to engage TRACTION mode then another 5 secs to disable. on the non NISMOs they made this change too where you hold the button for 5 secs. I guess it was easier to do it that way

So if you want to disable everything you still need to press that switch behind the brake pedal or not anymore?

Also when it says Traction is has some slip and without Traction it’s full slip and skills?

traction mode for NISMO is the TC/VDC off but it still brakes the inside and outside wheels holding it another 5 secs turns that off too. there is another level of removal that is the brake switch but honestly that is only for drifting or doing donuts ect. Traction mode has let me completely spin at autocross twice and the NISMO when pushed 10/10ths like that is prone to having snap oversteer that an really bite you. on a track where you are maybe pushing it 8/10ths this doesnt seem as present but going full out the back end can really come around on the NISMO without warning with TC off

Am I crazy or does this car not have a dashboard icon that lights up when the TC is being engaged? Could be i'm just not noticing it....
