I love that so many of us immediately stuck the JDM moniker on it as soon as we bought it. Excellent color choice! The flake and pearl popping in the sun on this color is hard to see in photos.
Glorious! I have the black pads already, so I just ordered the compound. Looking forward to cleaning this up a bit.
Side question- did you go +12 on the rear clubsports?
To confirm, you're not just referring to the piano black trim behind the door glass, right? I am afraid to take another polishing pad to the gloss black wrap on the hatch area, so I just want to be sure. If you say the black wrap can take a light finish pad then I will give it the ol' college try.
I tried to polish an area on the rear hatch and I can attest that it's not paint.. at least not paint with a layer of clear coat. If anyone can suggest a way to clear a light scratch on gloss black wrap, let me know.
I own a '24 manual and may have an issue with my VDC system (but wanted to ask, first.) The owners manual, and videos online show these new Zs with two different traction control options.. one tap of the button and it's supposed to (I think?) disable stability control, while holding it...
I bought the Griots two step kit (orbital polisher, compound, pads and a spray ceramic/wax mixture) -- really easy to use as the pads are super evasive. The spray on sealant seems to be holding strong. With that being said, I do want to strip it and apply a real coating, so this thread is...
There's a lot more emotion involved than anything tangible or practical (as far as reasoning goes.)
The 1LE is very sharp, very loud and drew attention from all the kids wanting to race me. It was also quite fatiguing to live with. You can't see and the rigid chassis, constant tramlining from...
I'll tell you this; When I was a kid, my mom's boyfriend was a Datsun / Nissan fiend. The first "sports car" I was EVER in was his early 70s 240z with blue interior. I was born in '85, so needless to say, the car was already pretty old by the time I was sitting in it. The core memory for me was...
Did you install the coilovers initially or was it the shop? The first shot looks like the rear wasn't clocked, and then it was realized and corrected in the second photo. Meaning, everything was torqued down while it was still lifted and components were still at full droop. Glad it's sorted...
The rear won't need pre-load adjusted but the front may (depending on how Nismo ships the coils). This was a recommendation regarding the car not riding correctly.
I sold my 23 Z like 8 months ago and have regretted it ever since. Bought a 2SS 1LE Camaro and have been in that since. Found a white/blue '24 for $45k in Texas and pounced a couple of days ago.
Camaro is gone and second Z is parked nicely in the garage.
Unfortunately there is no way to adjust it while it's mounted, unless you do what you do not want to do and cut a hole in the cap. There are extended adjusters you can use to fish through the cap, trim and carpet that makes adjustments easier without having to take them off.
Assuming they were...
Holy hell. I read elsewhere this thing was tough to get off, but I wasn't prepared. Multiple people, multiple pairs of vice grips and a pipe wrench later, we were able to get it off. The stock knob didn't make it out unscathed, unfortunately.
With that being said, this knob from Z1 is really...
