I was watching it, it ended at 85k so I doubt it hit reserve

ok thanks

so 85K plus the 7.5% buyers premium

that would be within a couple hundred of the driveaway price of one in vic

if ti did sell with sellersfees they would ahve got sub 80K which is a huge loss

expecting it to pop up on car sales again shortly I guess..

I have been reading this thread for the last 6 months, but has decided to cancel my pre-order. It’s a great looking car, shame about the launch.
Sorry to see you bite the dust mate, but like mentioned above, it's hardly surprising. Wonder how many potential buys have fallen off within the wider public..

None of the ones on carsales have been selling either. If everyone swallowed their pride I’d say 100k is a good selling point for a Proto, I don’t expect many people will pay much more than that.

Update email from my dealer today. (First time I've heard from them in 8 weeks)

Here is a portion of it:

"Just a quick update on your order, all the Z arrived in Australia last month but due to an issue with the metallic paint, they were all sent back.

We are now waiting from Nissan Australia to release the new allocation. We are hoping to get the car by January"

I've lost the hype for this now. Probably gunna put my name down for a type-r.

Still not 100% on which way I'll go.

Both cars are about 10k more than I would have expected tbh.

That really does sound like complete bs...
Never heard of cars being returned to place of manufacture to correct a paint defect... That is absurd.

I was also half expecting the Lloyds auction to fail... Just can't imagine it's a good platform to sell one?

The carsales asking prices were crazy- which just goes to my point of being happy to take the money from someone who is stupid enough to pay $40k over RRP.
(Fool and their money...)
$95-$100k does seem more reasonable for now- still over, but understandable given current supply/demand, which is only temporary of course.

Hi Guys,
I also ordered a Proto Z from a Nissan dealer north of the river here in Perth WA in February. I was told that I made the cut and I definitely had a proto reserved, This was confirmed by phone call again in June, July and again in early August. I was told just how lucky I was. Then like many others I was told that actually I hadn't managed to secure one at all. I'm still waiting for a standard Australian performance spec with no idea when it will get here and like many others on here I'm not sure I want to wait forever. The initial excitement has been spoiled a few times by promises and delivery dates that just aren't true. To add salt to the wound, when I was told that I had defo secured a proto. I went out and ordered WA number plate "Proto Spec" now that I'm not getting one is there anyone out there interested in buying the plate ?

Should ask the dealership to re-emburse you the licence plate cost.

Like I've delayed a certain life choice by 2 months from January next year, to the middle of march to be able to take ownership of this fucking thing and I'll tell you lot right now, I'll be fucked if I'm waiting any longer than March 15. That's my date.

Nissan Aus have said to me Jan 2023, and I've got until mid March, that's it. That's all she wrote.

My personalised plates can stay with this fucked up WA DOT and I'll just Wright the whole thing off as a life lesson is where I'm at.

Anyhow, we've all got our limits.

That would be hilarious, but I'm honestly just pissed off.

Anyone would swear Nissan is a new bloody start-up with this roll-out and not an automotive manufacturer with near on 100 years under its belt.
Just wait, the next reason for the delays will be because of bad blinker fluid or something…
So is it the damn 6spds or the paint? What the fuck is going on? ?
In a few months: “Sorry for the extra delay, the Nissan Z’s all have bad blinker fluid and need to be sent back to Japan again”

that would set me right off.
there's absolutely no way bad blinker fluid couldn't be changed at a dealer
