I ordered some Yokohama AD09’s today.
Pretty sure they will be grippy enough.

The first thing I did was upgrade to AD09s, they are excellent. I don't daily drive the Z, so it's rarely driven in the wet, and the performance in the dry is amazing. Beyond the increased traction, the stiff sidewalls increase turn in response and they just feel great. Highly recommended.

So new wheels and tires on and very happy.

But before I go into detail on that.
My adventure with tmps sensors.

I didn’t want to have to reuse old ones as I want those ready to go at any time I want.

However it seems nissan have locked them down on modern cars so you cannot get them programmed from the aftermarket. And genuine ones are stupid money

However I found mytmps.com.au they had the z listed on the site for aftermarket ones so I thought I would give them a try.

So the 4 sensors arrived along with a tool that you have to return.

You install an app on your android phone/tablet.

Then connect via Bluetooth to the tool.

You hold the tool near the sensor on each existing wheel. It then reads the codes on your existing sensor then via the nfc in your phone you clone that detail onto the new sensor.

Took 10 min.

Drive home lots of warnings from the tmps in the car but by the time I made it home they had all cleared and working fine.

You can also save the codes so in future you can just program the new ones.

Then drop the tool back in post (return slip already filled out) when done.

Way cheaper and worked well. No good for an existing failed sensor but if you want to swap out seems fine.

Tyres took 30 km to get the mold release off and then suddenly the car came to life

Love it the car is completely different now.

Prior I felt it was over powered

Now I’m thinking I need more everything.

yea you can transfer

But I wanted to leave the ones in the stock rims so I can use them if I want to do a long drive.

I wanted to have an aftermarket option.
