Hey guys excited to be part of this forum! Somehow I was able to snatch up the new Z (9 spd perf) for MSRP and like the title says it’s my first sports car. I’ve always been good at doing the general maintenance with the cars I’ve owned but in addition to that how can I keep this thing in tip top shape on and off the streets? What should I look out for? I’ve read the manual and it is kind of vague in areas.

appreciate any general and Nissan specific tips!

Also, I’ve noticed that while cruising she’s running at 150-160F (engine oil temp) but once I hit 4K-5k rpms it goes to 200-205F is this what you other Z owners see?

Congrats ! Welcome to the Z ownership club. Post a Pic when you get a chance, we'd love to see it. I'm on my third week of ownership with 700 miles , enjoying ever minute behind the wheel.

Manual kind of vague: yeah. That's almost an understatement. 😉

My first bit of advice is to change the oil more often than the manual suggests. I'm planning to do that with mine. I think the manual says every 10k miles / year. I'm planning every 5k miles / 6 months.

Congrats and welcome the club - you won’t regret your decision to by a Z! Looks like we have the exact same car - got mine in MN for MSRP, so very similar story. I agree with the other responses, plan to change my oil every 5k given this is a sports car not an SUV or sports sedan! Enjoy!
