After washing my Z yesterday, I noticed the driver B panel was warped. No clue how it happened, and I didn’t notice it while I was washing it. I see Z1 sells the part. Anyone else had this happen? Will it allow water to get places it shouldn’t until I get it fixed?
Thanks.

Pics, please. I'd personally let the dealership handle it under warranty.

Bizarre! I'd have the dealership replace it under warranty then decide if you want aftermarket or not, just in case there is an unseen underlying issue.

Yeah. I was just gobsmacked when I noticed it and can’t get it out of my head now. I’ll go by a dealer tomorrow and see what they say.

I have had B pillars melted on a couple cars due to sunlight reflecting off low e windows in the front of our house. I also replaced the mirror cap on my wife!s Wrangler this year due to the same thing. Maybe this is the same issue for you.

It actually burns the grass as the sun moves across the sky starting late September every single year. You can tell when there’s a cloudy day as a narrow strip of grass will be green.

Wow. We have a few low e windows on our house, and looking to add more. I didn't think about this as a side effect, but I guess that energy has to go somewhere. Sounds like a job for transparent solar panels.

a reflection will definitely cause that, I would still try to get it replaced under warranty though
